Every year Blue Cross offers their Blue chip for Medicare Value members a Wellness Reimbursement for the cost of participating in activities including bowling, dancing, swimming, golf, tennis, and yoga. Every year they have reimbursed me marina costs for Sailing. This year they denied me the benefit without any explanation. Sailing is a very physical sport which requires a great deal of strength and endurance for many hours. I appealed and was denied again. It seems that Blue Cross wants to advertise that it has a Wellness Benefit but is very reluctant to pay the benefit for sports that require athletic ability and develop fitness, strength, and endurance.

Annual deductible is absolutely ridiculous. I'd imagine 9 out of ten people would pay less, have more PCP options just paying out of pocket when health issues arise. I don't know how BCBS employees sleep at night working for a company that takes advantage of the vulnerable in the way that they do. Ponzi scheme insurance at it's worst. Don't believe me?
