I can’t say enough great things about the gang at NAHR!! From the time I walked thru the door they were friendly, smiling, helpful, energetic, and ready to spend the whole day with me!! And there’s nothing wrong with the fact the ladies there were respectfully, all very easy on the eye!! I can go on and on about how I’ve been on the search for a great hair restoration specialist that can do a black man’s hair and do it right. I have two other friends who both went in different direction than spending with Dr. Danyo. Huge mistake. One still has scares on the back of his head and the other just looks a mess. I was actually afraid of the procedure just because of how they looked. Dr. Danyo is the truth in hair restoration no his the best!! No cap!! Thanx again for a great experience and a great self improvement experience!! I could go on and on about how great the gang at NAHR but it’s just to much greatness about them. Especially if your African American looking for someone to do you right. You gotta go see Dr. Danyo. Thanx again to you and the ladies!! I really need this.

Yes, Dr. Danyo is the doctor that restore hair to Mike Bell's hair and the one you have heard Bell talk about on the radio.
There is no difference except in what they are called. They are the same thing and both mean you do not have to shave your head to see results.

Yes, a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) takes hair from your beard or body and places it on your head for a natural result with no recovery time. And because we’re taking from existing hair, you’ll leave our office with a natural look that can’t be achieved through other hair transplant methods.
Yes, here's what Rob, one of our recent clients said, as he too wasn't sure about going through with a treatment. “I would recommend Dr. Danyo to anyone experiencing hair loss,” Rob adds. “There’s a stigma around these types of procedures for men, and it’s important to have an option that doesn’t require a lot of down time. Dr. Danyo is — if not the only one — one of very few people doing the shave-less version of this, and if you could go get it done and be back to work again in a matter of days, why wouldn’t you do it? If your hair loss is something that affects your confidence on a day-to-day basis, I highly recommend it.”

Yes we do offer No-shave aka Shave-less FUE. In fact, we are one of the few medical practices worldwide that specializes in it. What is No- Shave? It is a discreet, minimally invasive method that reveals no telltale signs of a procedure being done except for thicker fuller hair.
There are three factors that go into the cost and for each patient that we see it is a little different based on their unique circumstances. Learn more here: https://nahairrestoration.com/cost-of-hair-restoration/
During the implantation you're sitting. In some cases you might be on your side or face down because that’s the best way to place angulation, but otherwise people are sitting up.
If you’re the type of patient that wants ultimate control or have somebody who is in charge of the procedure have ultimate control, then direct hair implantation is what you should be searching out.
Post-operative recovery is the shortest and least painful with Shave-Less FUE of any surgical hair transplant procedure. You may experience some mild discomfort during the recovery period, and notice irritation and redness on your scalp. This usually fades within a week to ten days, and most of our patients are back to work and normal activity within a few days of their procedure. Your surgeon will give you detailed directions for steps to take in the days just after your procedure to hasten recovery.
It depends on many factors, including your age and general state of health, your pattern of hair loss, and whether or not you have a suitable donor site to harvest healthy hair follicles from. To have Dr. Danyo evaluate your hair loss personally and make a recommendation, get in touch to set up your free and confidential consultation.
It depends on many factors including your level of hair loss, your existing state of health, and your goals for restoration surgery. Some of our patients to return for several procedures. This is not because the first procedure didn’t work—you will inevitably see new growth in areas with graft transplants—but because they have experienced hair loss in other areas that they wish to remedy, or they’d like to get even thicker and fuller results.
Both women and men can be candidates for Shave-Less FUE. However, this procedure is more commonly recommended for men, due to the different ways hair loss presents in men and women. Like other forms of FUE and FUT, Shave-Less FUE requires a portion of the scalp to have thick, healthy hair growth to harvest follicles from. Hair loss in women tends to be more diffuse than it is in men, so women are less likely to have an area of stable growth to harvest from. However, there are some types of hair loss in women that are compatible with Shave-Less FUE. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like Dr. Danyo to assess your hair loss and let you know whether you are a good candidate for the procedure.
Every patient is different. However, here is a fairly typical timeframe for hair regrowth after you’ve undergone a Shave-Less FUE procedure. First week: You may see some redness and irritation on the affected areas of your scalp. This usually heals quickly. One to three weeks: You should see the initial redness and irritation subside by now, and you can resume your normal showering and shampooing routine. One to three months: You may notice hairs falling out during this time. This is a normal part of the process—your hair follicles are reviving after briefly going dormant, and are pushing old hair growth out so they can start anew. Three to six months: Here’s where you’ll see the start of your new hair growth. It may be thinner, finer and lighter than usual, or it may grow in uneven. This is also normal, as your follicles will heal at different rates. Learn more on our website: https://nahairrestoration.com/shave-less-fue-faq/
Shave-Less FUE is one of the most discreet types of hair restoration surgery available. Many of our patients report that the people in their lives—even their own families—don’t notice any signs of the procedure, even just days afterward.
Most of our patients take a few days to resume normal activities after a Shave-Less FUE procedure. It is not unusual for patients to have the procedure at the end of a week, take the weekend to recover, and resume work the following week as usual.
The procedure takes place under local anesthesia. The vast majority of our patients report little or no discomfort during the procedure, and some even find it relaxing. A few even fall asleep! In addition to his experience as a leading hair restoration surgeon, Dr. Danyo has a background in pain management. He is highly experienced in making sure every patient is as comfortable as possible.
“FUT” stands for “Follicular Unit Transplant.” This is an older type of hair restoration procedure in which a strip of the patient’s scalp is removed, and healthy hair follicles are harvested from that strip. This procedure is still sometimes performed today. However, it leaves a telltale linear scar, and the recovery period can be long and painful compared with other available procedures such as traditional and Shave-Less FUE.
“FUE” stands for “Follicular Unit Excision.” Both of these procedures—Shave-Less and traditional FUE—are follicular unit excision procedures, in which healthy hair follicles are harvested from one area of the scalp and re-implanted in another. The difference is that with traditional FUE, the patient’s head is shaved. In actuality, only a portion of the patient’s head needs to be shaved, but the entire head is usually shaved for cosmetic reasons. With Shave-Less FUE, there is no need for the patient’s head to be shaved. Our patients tend to prefer it because it is one of the most discreet types of hair restoration procedures available today.

Gluten is a protein found in wheat products as well as rye and barley. It’s also used as an additive across a wide range of packaged and prepared food products, as it serves as a filler and helps foods adhere and retain their shape. Some people have an intolerance to gluten. This intolerance may be mild or very severe. Celiac disease, one of the most serious forms of gluten intolerance, causes an immune system response that can damage the small intestine. It’s by no means common. But for some people, an undiscovered gluten intolerance can lie at the root of their hair loss. The connection is especially strong for those with full-blown Celiac disease, which can often go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) involves the precise placement of tiny medical-grade tattoos beneath the skin of your scalp, mimicking hair follicles. This method is often preferred by those who maintain a shaven look, as it is virtually indistinguishable from natural shaved hair.
Shave-less FUE is a discreet, minimally invasive method that reveals no telltale signs of a procedure being done except for thicker fuller hair. This technique produces near full concealment, and does not require you to shave your head. Style your hair as usual after the procedure, and return to work and life within days, with no one the wiser. Everyone will notice your new head of hair and your added confidence. No one will know how you achieved it, unless you tell them!
Yes, we offer other options than having to shave your head. There are a number of procedures that can help restore natural hair growth in African American men, whether the underlying cause is traction alopecia, male pattern baldness, or something else.
Yes, we can by doing a minimally invasive method that leaves no linear scar, and doesn’t require you to shave your head. Your existing hair will cover the transplanted follicles, and you can return to work and life within a few days.
The healing following an FUE procedure is quick and relatively painless. It is rare that patients who have undergone the procedure ask for more pain medications – most do not even request pain medications and do well with over the counter Tylenol. The main concern that we have with the healing process relates to the proper healing of the transplanted grafts. The donor site should be left alone as well and rubbing or massaging the donor area may cause increased pain and swelling. Our technique minimizes the chance for swelling and greatly speeds up the healing process in both the donor and recipient regions.
Male Pattern Balness is an inherited condition in men which is triggered by the hormone Dihydrotestosterone which causes gradual miniaturization (and eventual loss) of hair follicles. Starting anytime after puberty with a recession of the hairline and thinning of the crown areas, it can eventually lead to complete baldness at the top of the scalp. The areas around the sides and back of the scalp are not typically affected by male pattern baldness.
Hair grafts are hair follicles that have been harvested from the donor area and are ready for transplantation into the recipient area of the scalp. The numbers of hair follicles per graft vary widely depending upon the transplantation technique used. A graft may contain a single hair follicle, a single follicular unit, multiple follicular units, or even 20 or more follicles (as in a large round graft).
Patients who would like the option of wearing a very short haircut in the back or sides of their scalp, or those who want the least amount of activity restriction (e.g. athletes) after their hair transplant procedure, may be good candidates for FUE. FUE can also be used for “scar camouflage” procedures for patients who have had prior “Strip” procedures, as well as for body hair transplants.

Grafting is a variety of procedures where hair-bearing skin is removed from the lower scalp at the back of the head - the "donor area" - and transferred to thinning or balding areas. The most popular varieties are micrografting (1-2 hairs) and minigrafting (3-8 hairs). A few surgeons selectively use round grafts, which have 10-20- hairs each.
Female pattern baldness is a hereditary pattern of baldness found in women typically characterized by a diffuse thinning of hair and/or hair loss at the front portion of the scalp behind the frontal hairline. May or may not include a slight recession or thinning in the temples and only very rarely ends in complete baldness at the top of the scalp. Also called "Female Hereditary Hair Thinning."
After personally performing over 1 million graft excisions and placements, Dr. Danyo, MD is now considered one of the foremost practitioners of Shave-less FUE in the world.
The results are similar. FUE procedures, by default, yield grafts that contain mainly one, two, three, or four follicles called “follicular units”. Strips or linear harvests, are removed from the back of the scalp and are then microscopically dissected by a team into grafts of one, two or three follicles, would also yield similar “follicular-unit” grafts. Provided that in each case the grafts are implanted with care, artistry and precision into the recipient area, the final transplanted results with FUE would be similar, if not identical, to those accomplished with a linear harvest. The difference is not in the area of hair growth, but how the donor area is harvested either by a strip of scalp or by small individual graft extractions.
There are several hair transplant options that produce great results, including Shave-Less FUE, the practice we specialize in here. Shave-Less FUE is often the easiest surgical procedure for women, as no part of the scalp is shaved—and most women with thinning hair do have enough to conceal signs of a transplant.

Dr. Daniel A. Danyo, MD is the founder and medical director of North Atlanta Hair Restoration, specializing in treating hair loss in both men and women. He is one of only 300 people in the world certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. He is also an early adopter and pioneer of Shave-less FUE, one of the most discreet surgical procedures available for hair restoration. Dr. Danyo, MD performs every procedure himself, from start to finish. He individually extracts and places every graft on every patient. “I know what my patients are going through. I went through it, too.”
Yes! With recent breakthroughs in beard and body hair transplantation, we are able to do what was once impossible – restoring the entire scalp with permanent hair from the frontal hairline through the mid-scalp and into the crown. Beard hair is an excellent choice for hair transplantation. The thickness of each beard hair is typically twice that of scalp donor hair, which means more than twice the amount of volume placed. It is easy to harvest from the face, leaving little visible scaring and very quick healing. The donor area is also preserved to allow for a greater number of possible hair transplant grafts in the future. In addition, the growth cycle of beard hair mimics that of the scalp.
1) Relax comfortably during your procedure, listening to your choice of music. You’ll be awake the whole time, with a local anesthetic to numb your scalp. 2) The doctor will carefully trim and extract small groups of follicles from the thick hair on the back and sides of the head. 3) Then those grafts will be implanted into the thinning areas up top, using technical as well as artistic skills to blend the new hair in with the hair you already have. 4) Adding grafts to the front hairline, if needed, requires a special ‘feathering’ technique to make it look like your natural hair 5) Dr. Danyo uses highly precise extraction and implanting tools, for healthy, viable transplanted grafts and minimal scabbing, compared to the traditional approach of using medical scalpels
This increasingly popular scalp-hiding approach makes you look better immediately, with no tell-tale signs, so you can return to work the next day. These medical-grade tattoo dots are among the least invasive types of hair restoration, with no after-effects or downtime. For just a few hundred dollars, you can do something about the hair up top that keeps getting thinner. Men and women are amazed by the improvement in the before-and-after photos. Although often used by itself, Scalp Micropigmentation is also sometimes applied after a transplant procedure for an even better overall appearance.
Shave-less FUE transplants work best for: - Those who have been putting off hair restoration because of the head-shaving requirement. - Those with an active work and social life, who can’t afford a lot of downtime. - Women, for whom having to shave their head is a deal-breaker. - Men who want to improve a receding hairline.
Hair restoration is an investment; however, many of our clients are pleasantly surprised by the price. The cost we quote you is the cost you pay. We are a small, tight-knit team that treats each patient like family and we don’t nickel-and-dime or try to up-sell our patients. If you decide to go ahead with hair restoration, we’ll work with you to determine a custom payment plan that works for you. If you want to know how much treatment will cost, the first step is to get in touch. Here’s how it works: 1. Schedule a free, confidential consultation with Dr. Danyo, either in person or video chat. 2. Dr. Danyo will examine your hair loss, answer all your questions, and recommend a treatment. 3. You’ll speak with our patient coordinator and schedule your procedure. We’ll discuss payment and financing, and go over pre-op and post-op care. 4. Come in on the day of your appointment, and walk out on the way to a thicker, fuller head of hair.
‘FUE’ (Follicular Unit Extraction) transplants don’t depend on the surgical removal of a strip of scalp, but traditionally require shaving all or part of the head. But not any more! Although North Atlanta Hair Restoration also offers traditional FUE transplants, most men and women here choose the Shaveless FUE, because shaving their head simply isn’t an option. After the procedure, your existing hair will cover the transplanted follicles. In a couple of days, any tell-tale signs will be gone, and friends and co-workers won’t notice you’ve had hair restoration.
Scalp Micro-Pigmentation is a series of tiny ‘tattoo dots’ that help conceal balding areas.
With the ‘FUE’ (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique, small groups of hair follicles are carefully extracted from the back and side of the head for transplanting up top. Many prefer this over the original ‘FUT’ (Follicular Unit Transplant) method, which requires surgically removing a strip of scalp from the back or side of the head to ‘harvest’ hair follicles. FUE results in an easier, quicker recovery, because there’s less surgery to recover from. FUE also avoids the permanent scar from the removed strip of scalp.
This ‘no-downtime’ alternative to hair transplants uses your body’s natural growth factors to build density in thinning hair. With ‘Platelet Rich Plasma’, you can go back to work and socializing the next day, with nothing for anyone to ‘notice.’ PRP treatments are minimally invasive, with less impact than hair transplant surgery. PRP for hair loss is significantly less expensive than hair transplant procedures. Although often used alone, PRP can also be used in conjunction with a hair transplant for enhanced results.
Shaveless FUE Ttansplants work best for: 1) Those who have been putting off hair restoration because of the head-shaving requirement. 2) Those with an active work and social life, who can’t afford a lot of downtime. 3) Women, for whom having to shave their head is a deal-breaker. 4) Men who want to improve a receding hairline.
