This zoo has a lot to offer however some of the enclosures are nice but others are small, if they're going to be small enclosures, they NEED enrichment, hideouts, etc. Some of the animals didn't even have grass or any nature. It's disappointing to see the otters in a small cage and have the smallest pool I've ever seen. Flamingos didn't even have a body of water (though it's possible their water is in their inside section). I don't think this zoo is bad and I can tell the animals are being cared for, but they need major upgrades to their enclosures. Even just some more logs or literally ANYTHING. Secondly, I came for baby animal day.. lots of baby animals but crammed into the smallest pens I have ever seen. I get they are only in there during the baby animal day and while they're open.. but come on, 3 baby kangaroos crammed into one pen that should fit maybe 1. It was hard to enjoy myself when I saw a lot of animals that re

Giraffes, Camels, and Kangaroos, oh what a perfect day at the Zoo! Absolutely enjoy going to see the animals here. I'd highly recommend Boulder Ridge as a place to take your little ones. Very clean, animals are well kept, it's a family run Zoo and you can tell the pride they take in it. They offer several interactive experiences feeding the animals. Lettuce and carrot cups for sale to feed many species. There's a concession stand offering everything from pretzels & pizza to dipping dots & hot dogs. (Prices are very reasonable) It appears they are continuously improving; adding new exhibits and walkways. Take the day to go explore, you won't forget it!

This place was awesome and soooo many animals! A must visit! So much fun feeding camels, giraffes, turtles, goats, and so much more! The bird cage where you feed them was AMAZING!!

This is a nice zoo. They are adding on also No safari anymore, they made the road into a nice walking trail so you walk to see the animals. Feeding the giraffes was great. They also have nice concession stand with a variety of food choices at a decent price or you can bring in a picnic lunch. Overall a very zoo.

Yes. Both are allowed. You won't be able to take the stroller on the safari ride portion, but there is a spot to park them right near the waiting area. I highly recommend cameras. With the ability to get up close to some of the animals (like the giraffes and birds), you are sure to capture some great memories.
You can feed the one year old giraffe and the goats. Most of the babies are very little- less than two months. Thee is a checklist to find them all. They were very sweet.
If you want to feed them lettuce, it it $1 a leaf or 6 leaves for $5. To feed the parakeets, it is $1 per popsicle stick. There are other animals that you can feed and they will tell you what ones at the feeding stations.
Yes Elizabeth we have lots of variety!
No, a Bob Cat though. Its not a zoo but a wildlife preserve.

Yes, we have a wheelchair accessible tram that we use.
Usually about 2-3 hours. It is partial walk through and a safari ride that is included with your admission. The ride is about 25 minutes long. There is feed for sale in the park for the feeding the animals and lots of different displays of animals to look at. there is a reptile house to look through, plus much more. The walk through area is all flat sidewalks and very easy to get around.
Hi Sheila, We have had Hyenas in the past but do not currently have any...We have snacks but no lunch food. You man bring food into the park though for personal consumption. Thanks!
Yes it is open to the public
HI Sarah, No sorry we do not. We are privately owned and funded.
There is a camp store where you can purchase some foods/snacks/souvenirs. But no prepared meals.
Yes, there is a snack shack, which is reasonably priced. They also offer a gluten free menu!
The animals are almost always out during the day...If we ever have really bad temperatures and the animals can't come out we will update our Facebook page with the info. Thanks!
We are closing at the end of the day on October 18th this year. Thanks!
adults 12 and over: 14$ Ages 3-11: 10$ Ages 62 and over 12$ Ages 2 and under: Free Would recommend buying them online because then you don't have to wait if there is a line.
4 out of 4
The zoo opens at 10 am each day except for Sunday (12pm on Sunday) and closes at 6 pm each night except for Tuesday (8 pm). Thanks
No parrot house. But there is a parakeet house and you can purchase seed on a stick and feed them.
It's worth it and you don't have to pay extra for the train ride!
Most of the park is a walk thru, they have a couple "safari "buses that you can ride to see the outer animals that are in bigger enclosures..like the zebras, bison, and more it's about a 10 minute ride. Nice and relaxing.
It is a seperate cost from the zoo fee. Carrots cup are 5 bucks and lettuce is 1 dollar a leaf or 6 for 5 dollars. The experience is so worth it. There is only specific animals you can feed it to and they will have a list there. Feeding the girrafes is a very fun experience.
I believe that information is on their website.

Today was our last open day...We are now closed for the 2018 season. Thanks!
I don't know we only had an hour half time there with 2 small kids it was difficult to move threw entire park
Hi Susan, Yes the park is still open regular hours. 10 am to 6pm most days. On Tuesday we are open until 8pm and on Sunday we don't open until 12pm. See you soon! PS We are open until our Park Before Dark event later in October :)
Boulder ridge does have a wheelchair, and they even have a train that is wheelchair accesible.that train takes you around the park and you will be able to see the safari animals as well except the bridge, it has ridges on each end, but everything is all ground level.
I highly doubt it but there is definitely space for you to bring a wheel chair. I've only been once but it's not a place one would assume has amigos even tho the path ways are concrete and really nice
I would call them and ask.
You can buy cups of carrots and lettuce leaves for $3 and bird seed sticks for $1. The carrots and lettuce can be fed to many of the animals and there are probably 10-12 carrots in each cup.

They have a Fennic fox, but not to pet.
Yes we all walked in with our own beverages and they have a picnic area with picnic tables! We chose to have are picnic lunch at the park in the small town of Alto thinking Boulder Ridge would be so busy all the tables would be full we were wrong. They were busy but plenty of tables were available.
