Beautiful. Simply put i was mesmerized by the placement of the parking area adjacent to the reservoir and the inflow with its rapid like rush of fluid water. Fishing is common place as is the lazily parked vehical with feet kicked up on an open window relaxing in the afternoon summer sun. Public restrooms close at 8pm and there is no vending machines or concession stands so bring your snacks and enjoy the local amenities.

Nice lake, good fishing, cool picnic area, wheelchair accessible outhouse and parking. And my dogs love it there!!! We go everyday!!!👍🤙

I drove here today with a friend. We did not mean to come here...just found it by accident. It is located off his 80 a little above Auburn ca. As you drive up...there is a small parking area with a bathroom. By the water you will find a rail with metal fishing pole holders and concrete picnic tables. This is a small lake. It is not for boating or fishing and there seems to be plenty of fish. Up the hill just a bit are picnic tables and BBQ pits. It would be a great place for lunch or just to sit for a while...very peaceful and beautiful.

Easy to walk around the whole place or jog, loved the picnic area in the trees.

Halsey Forebay is stocked a few times a year with trout. Typically that is the only fish caught.
