I called today because I couldn't access the ce/broker training. I'm asking questions to why this is I was interrupted yelled at and then hung up on not to mention my return calls where disregarded. Whoever this women was she was very disrespectful and unprofessional for her to get so irate over a few questions clearly states she is unfit for her job. Remove her immediately. Clearly the Barber Board should have remained the overseer for the Barber community. Very disappointed.

Barbers pay $113 for a printed piece of paper now for a license? We used to have nice thick cards that went into our graduation plaques with our names on it! Now we have to cut out a cheap piece of printed paper?? What is going on with this place!?Bring back the barber board!

Your website is trash, just like your whole operation. What is the point of your existence? Be less worthless.

They force us to take continuing education classes if you're under 65 years of age or have under 30 years of barbering experience, what a racket because the old timers have the dirtiest shops. I called and tried to become exempt from taking the courses because I identify as a 70 year old. Their lawyer Jared told me I had to jump through all these hoops, mqking it virtually impossible. As a 28 year old who identifies as a 70 year old I feel like they discriminate against us senior citizens. It sickens me to my core. I'm shook, literally shaking rn and have started seeing a therapist because the ohio state barber and cosmetology board has given me PTSD, they fail to identify me as I truly am. As a non binary genderfluid trans I am afraid to even go into their building, if they clearly won't allow me to be exempt from the course due to my age I fear they will address me with improper pronouns.

Where are the free classes offered to renew
Is this what I need to do
Yes it is but the road its on goes in a u. So if your coming from marine dr. You will want to turn on the second gateway dr. Rd. Or you'll go around in a circle. But thats ok too. Good luck!!
Please need one hour test.
I've also been waiting for about 2 months. I'm afraid it's been lost in the mail. Worse yet, I can't even get through to speak to a customer service representative when I call, it just hangs up.
The best thing I can suggest is to go on there website for more information..hopefully you can get the info you need there
You will need to contact the state board in GA and ask them.
8 for your instructor license and 8 for your regular license; so 16 in total.
Yes
No, Manicure Training must be done at a licensed manicuring school in Ohio.
Do I need to take class over
I understand where your question is stemming from. But Cosmetology is not only based off basic hair care. But how can you be licensed as a Cosmetologylogist if you do not obtain & master the beginner theory & skills needed? As far as the industry changing, it is changing all the time. As a licensed Cosmetologist it is up to that individual to stay current by taking continuing education courses, trainings, and seminars. There are endless outlets to sharpen & gain new skills. We as licensed Cosmetologists are required to have continuing educational training. I believe that a good stylist/Cosmetologist will continue to learn far beyond graduating from school and beyond the chair. I hope this helps with your question.
If your Salon is licensed only as a COSS, then no. Barbers can only work in a Barber Shop.
From what I was told only what they have tested out in.
You have to call the Ohio State Cosmotolgy and Barber License Board for more directions and steps.
No. You file with the State Medical Board
You should call South Carolina State Board of Cosmetology and they can give you more information on their requirements for reciprocity
No
Hello I just changed mine over from California to Ohio. If you have been licensed over five years you have to contact Ohio state board and show them proof of work experience once they approve you, you just have to pay to transfer. However if its been shorter than 5 years you maybe required to test at Ohio state board. But, first step is to contact Ohio state board to see what they will require from you individually.

No, not since September 2016.
You may have caught the department that takes care of those things at the end of the day and they'll probably try to catch you on Monday.
I believe your wife just contacted someone in Customer Service to get that information updated via email.
Yes, that's not legal. You both can get in trouble.
So, it would depend on whether or not you're talking about taking on a managerial role. A license is a license, compensation is up to the professional and the shop owner.
Presently there is no High School / Career Center program for the 1800 Barber License program. State Law 4709.10 Requirements for Barber Schools spells out the necessaries for such institutions. For more information, contact the Board Offices @ 614-466-3834 and ask for Mr. Ed Highley. He may be able to help with what is currently being considered legislatively.
It just said you passed or failed
It's a violation of Ohio State Law. Specifically 4709.01 "... for pay, free or otherwise..." I am an inspector with the board. There is NO provision for a student, or somebody working towards their license. Minimum fine starts at $250, AND the facility that permits an unlicensed practitioner receives a violation ad well. Hope this was helpful!
Oh the website is Elite.com if I remember correctly for the CEUs. Not sure what part of Ohio you are in but I know where many great hair shows are held through my old distributors but I was NE Ohio by Cleveland. Cosmoprof has shows but they're kinda janky for the price of a good one.
Quizlet.com has some practice test that will help you at state board. Not necessarily a state test. Just basically what you learned in school
No you do not but it has to be done in a licensed salon under a licensed cosmetologist. Hope this helps!
You can report her under her license number. Go to their website and go to for the public and look up her license number by her first and last name and then file a complaint. No idea what happens after that but at least they are aware.
No. So far only Wednesday and Thursdays
I believe you can transfer but do call the Ohio State board to verify hope this helps
Yes,on your email
Yes.i think it's 30 day or 45. But you have until midnight tonight. Call ask for an extension or escrow

What's ceu?
If you go on the website elicense.ohio.gov log in and it will tell you the amount
No. Cosmetologists are no longer required to display their licenses at their place of work. They are, however, required to carry it with them at all times in the case that an inspector asks for their credentials. Beauty salon/barbershop/etc. are different and have separate requirements for posting.
I was allowed to wax at a Barber shop that I had worked here in Ohio.
Go their and they will healp u
1 hr has to be laws and rules only given by the board on their website.
Please support the nail state from Viet Nam to the state of nail art in the state of ohio
Contact state board for further information.
No
I'm not familiar with the Barber board, www cos.ohio.gov will give you the answer
Answer the question please I need the answer
Whoever provides the waxing service has to hold an active Cosmetology or esthetician license
8 hours per license. 1 of the 16 has to be on human trafficking, 2 of the 16 has to be on disinfection. Hope this helps
Just renew your license! Your first license renewal, your CE hours are waived.
If you have an active Ohio Cosmetology or Esthetics license, you can perform those services.
Yes towels have to be in a closed cupboard or sealed somewhere, business license generally is displayed at the reception area in plain view for clients as well as the Board in my experience....
You have to contact the state youre licensed in and get a board certification, fill out the required application for your state send it back to them, then go on ohio cosmetology board website and print out the reciprocity app fill it out send in a money order with the amount ohio stateboard request ( it wil tell u on the website how much to send with the application and other required info such as copy of license, proof of 9th grade education...
Yes
I believe there is a super 8 or something like that right around the corner
On the westside there's a form you can fill out
You can get a boutique license, I'm not sure the requirements, but I know as a cosmetology student you are able to obtain one before graduation. The boutique license covers shampooing, braiding and threading eyebrows.
