Definitely no help. As a female who is dealing with domestic violence issues at home. And is trying to lose contact against an ex boyfriend who happened to be related to a cop. And I have all the evidence I need to support my case. Just because he’s related to someone. They will cover that person behind. My god mother rose pryer hiky told me to take up the complaint above dispatch. It’s not fair that I have to deal with my ex’s harassment. My ex boyfriend pulled the brake switch to my car. God for bid I got into a car accident I could of been seriously dead. Not happy with their services.

With the atmosphere being as it clearly already is, to be getting that from a police officer is even worst. My car was hit in an accident by an 18 year old young man while I was stopped in the middle of the intersection. The town of Poughkeepsie water department was doing work and had blocked the street with no flag men. They had stopped a white van and was talking. An elderly driver came out and I thought I would assist by allowing her to pass so I stopped in the middle of the intersection, the lady passed and this kid just drove and hit my car. I got out of my vehicle quite upset with the water dept; asking them why did they not have flag men working. Apparently, they had finished working and just decided to block traffic, and have a conversation with some men in a white van. I am not sure if those men too were working with the water dept. They drove off down the street and then stopped the police officer and told him that I ran a red light. This officer then came in not such a professional manner, took a report. But choose not to write what I said, nothing about being STOPPED in the intersection; but instead wrote that I said there should have been flag men there. He then told me he wanted to write me tickets for running the red light. He further compounded the report by adding five witnesses, all of which works for the Poughkeepsie water department. When I called to speak to his supervisor I was told by his supervisor that the absence of what I said not being written is because that was what he was trying to relay....huh? Since this happened my insurance has significantly been increased. I recognize that people can be unprofessional and that somethings actually goes against us one of which I cannot change. This is the environment that we are living in. I pray it doesn't get any worse.

Didn’t realize when you report an act of violence occurring on your property by complete belligerent trespassers/strangers, that the victims become the interrogated party, complete with attitude and snide remarks by the LIEUTENANT! The assailants were not pursued when everyone was advising the lieutenant that he was letting them get away by car. The entire crew of people handling this situation were rude, accusatory and clearly in need of revisiting the function the role of police officer entails.

The patrolmen and woman of the Town of Poughkeepsie are all great folks however the detectives are a terrible excuse and complete waste of space.
