Friendly. Quick and painless...best dmv experience to date.
Sean McGinley
Fastest and moss efficiently run dmv I have ever been to.
Daeron Maxedout
Normally I don't have a problem with this place. Some new trainee screamed at me for asking a question. If that's how she treats customer she needs to lose her job.
Daniel Kuhner
It was quick and easy. Best D.M.V. I have been in.

Yes. Thursday 9AM to 6:45pm.
You can do either. If you do not make an appointment you will have to stand in line in the back/side of the building. That could be from 20 minutes to 3 hours. It depends on the day.
Hi ed, you need the title to the vehicle (1972 and newer), insurance in the registrants name, a license or six points of id and the MV82 and DTF 302. Hope this helps!
No
It may be in your best interest to go in. They no longer require appointments and their lines have been reasonable to get helped. The info desk may also be able to answer that for you. Before you go in you could try to call them, but you'd be best off emailing the lady on the dmv website. I did this last week and had an answer within an hour. May save you a trip!
As of last week..YES. Short lines
Anyone can return them you will just need the receipt for your insurance company to cancel the insurance.
There is a parking lot across from the county clerk (which is behind DMV) that is free and almost always has spots.
I think you can only schedule appointments for real license after u receive the form in the mail. I was just there today for address change. Place is more inefficient than ever. Hudson was always bad but now its worse. I dont think the employees are exactly to blame. Maybe the city management or something. Even understaffed theres still no reason they cant answer phones. That would cut out 1/3 to 1/2 people going there
U can look that up on the NYS DMV website
Yes
Yes the line's move fast. Not a bad time , this time.
Make a appointment an fill out needed paperwork
No you don't have to inspect your car before
You might have to call DMV and ask for that information
Yes you can!
I've printed the emailed form in the past and that was acceptable.
Maybe you should call the official DMV number instead of asking randos on the internet?
Depends on what you need to go in for. I just needed to transfer my license in state and had to wait in line outside. If you go on their website there's a way to look up how to schedule an appointment and what kind of things need appointments scheduled
All you have to do is wait to et your cocuments and resceduall an appointment dont worry about the one you will miss they will not fine you for that
You would need to make an appointment heres the link https://sites.google.com/a/columbiacountyny.com/columbia-county-clerk/
No but if you make one then you dont have to stand outside for hours so it would be good to make one
Yes you should be able to i dont see why not there are people coming from all around to come and take there tests here good luck
Yes just make an appointment through the DMV website, but make sure its in columbia county
Greene county dmv is doing appointment only, but I do believe as long as you have all verified proof of identity you may stand in line at Columbia county dmv to get in an complete all the necessary paperwork for it.
can i make appointment online or have to call i tried calling all day yesterday and for a permit thanks
No. I believe there is also a drop box if you don't need the paperwork immediately.
excuse my ignorance - what are transit tags? I have every possible document I need to register a vehicle. I just can't wait 2 weeks like DMV in Dutchess is telling me. I'm headed to Hudson in the a.m. I guess. THANK YOU!
9 to 4.45 with lunch brake from 12 to 1
Can I registrater & get new plates for my truck that I applied for on line weeks ago?? Can I redo application at hudson motor vehicle
I would call the 1800 number that all can be done online i believe
You can go in just have to wait in line outside firt. They call you in then u have to wait in line in there... i went right after there lunch break was easier.. first thing in am they are really busy
Yes
You will have to get your social security card or at least the paper saying its on its way
Yes, but make a appointment so you don't have to wait outside in the heat. Get there the time of your appointment and you go right in.
Yes when they let u in they stop you at a desk and ask if u need any papers before u go up to the girls....
You can make an appointment and they call you in at the hour you are supposed to be there. Appointment at 11:30am, they will let you in at 11:30am. Don't have to wait in sun if you don't want to. Just be there at the door on your appointment time and mask and then you would be good.
You can download forms from nys DMV also... very busy in the am, later is better
Currently a 2 hour wait in line because it's the only DMV open. People coming for all surrounding counties. If you are a Columbia county resident you can make appointment online and you will avoid having to stand outside in the sun for 2 hrs.
Make an appointment it's way better. The line last week was 8 hours waiting
No appointment needed for the Hudson Dmv,just a long line.I did find them helpful to me.
Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:45 Closed Noon-12:30 For cleaning so yes also the 19th
As of last week they were open Mon-Thurs 10-2. Not sure about this week.
You have to stand outside and wait in line, they will take your paperwork thru the door, you wont be allowed inside, also they close early
As of Wednesday they are open so they should be open Friday
Enhanced allows you to fly domestically and cross borders into Canada or Mexico by land or sea. Costs $30 extra. Real id is for flying domestically only, not border crossings
Yes
9am in the morning when they just open
Any day from 9 to4
No, it's one line for everything. I will tell you though that the Hudson DMV is rather quick. You know they're busy if there's more than 10 people there at once. Half an hour should be just enough to get you in and out, if you can set aside 45 minutes you should be just fine.
Dmv
Same as normal, no penalty for being late
You can take the five hour course as soon as you want. You have to wait six months to take the road test however if you are a junior driver
So long as NYC remains a part of New York State, you can renew your driver's license at any NY DMV statewide.
No unless you want an enhanced license or Real ID
Yes
DMV on 560 Warren Street Hudson, NY
I believe you can walk in and take that test during the hours that they are open but I might be wrong
Just the plates and one dollar to turn them in.
