Male at the front desk very rude. I drove 45 min 1 way, filled out the application there and was told at 4:20 to just leave he would not assist me today. Mind you I was the ONLY person there waiting. I asked if someone else could help me and of course he said no. There were other people working. A family was finishing up there adoption. Very unprofessional they don't close until 5pm. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. I WOULD PUT 0 IF IT WAS A OPTION

They have a dogs who need a home, cats and kittens who need a home, and a few Guinea pigs who need a home. Please go on the website and fill the adoption application so you will have access to meeting the dogs in person. I’ve to wait for mine so I waited to everyone an heads up. I took pictures of a few dogs but others wouldn’t stay still but still are good dogs ❤️

Best shelter in the world! Caring and kind :)

The people working there were fantastic! They were friendly, helpful and you could tell they truly care about the animals and are there working for the right reasons. I appreciate them helping my partner and I grow our family.

Please call them, they are great.
Hi LInda, Yes, we are! Please visit the volunteer page of our website and complete the application. We are open to the public Weds through Sunday from 12-4pm and our thrift store is open Tues through Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
Please visit our ADOPT page for all available pets: https://dcspca.org/adopt/
Most cases you can just drop them off in donation pile
Yes, but no pillows, sleeping bags, and will accept dog and cat food
Spca does not. Just inexpensive spay/neuter
I’m looking for a toy pooldle and how long do I have to wait for it is there a wait list
I believe they are held once a week, but I'm not sure which day off-hand. You can call them or visit their website at www.dcspca.org for more information.
Yes, as Jodie the other Local guide has already completely answered...you need to be trained. But you're welcome to become a volunteer!
Hi Robin, all are welcome to view the dogs--you just can't interact with them without a pre-screened application. Applications require the landlord's permission if you are renting your living space. Many people take pictures of the dogs to show their landlord, or we will be happy to speak with your landlord about any dog in which you are interested and answer any questions they may have.
Please visit our website dcscpa.org to see all of our available animals and fill out an application. Thanks!
Please call our intake manager Carol at extension 403 for all matters relating to surrendering animals.
Hi Jose, for more information please visit https://dcspca.org/programs-services/clinic-services/
Hi Shirley, for more information, please visit https://dcspca.org/programs-services/clinic-services/
Please call 845-452-7722, x-403 to discuss your options.
Hi Ellie, If we cannot help you, we have resources we can suggest. Please call our medical admin assistant: 845-452-7722, x-425 to discuss. You might have to leave a message, and they'll call you back.
I'm sorry. I really don't know, but just give them a call and ask. I hope it works out for you.
I don't know. It was my first time there to adopt a puppy. However I do know that the board for $35 a day start
I am not sure but they have had those kind of animals in the past
No. We went Friday afternoon and came home with a new family member.
You could give them a call and ask them if they have any advice for you.
Call for intake appt also try hudson valley animal rescue
I'd call SPCA in a.m., I believe if they dont have any to foster they could direct u to someone who does...
I'm sorry they were rude to you. However, they have a lot of people asking, them alot of questions all at once it can, be over whelming at times. I do believe, they really need more help and a staff to accommodate a large crowd of people. Don't take it personally.
As long as you have a guardian I think you'll be okay. But currently on their website it states that you have to be 16 to volunteer with the cats and 18 to volunteer with the dogs. Not sure if that information is current though, so your best shot would be calling them and asking.
yes take it here n they will be happy to take it n give it a good home they never kill animals
I don't think so
Robert you can call them in advance and ask. Animal idea might be to look online for local shelters or nonprofits who are holding free spay and neuter clinics. Also they hold free rabies clinics. Most of the clinics are held at local nonprofits and local pet supplies stores such as Petsmart, Petco, Pet Supplies plus, etc.
That is great. So few people actually look to adopt the older animals that are looking for homes. Although many of the cats at the DCSPCA are young, there are almost always some older ones looking for their forever home. The Adoption Center is usually open on weekends as well as a few days during the week. You can call them at 845.452. 7722 or just stop by. You can also visit their website at www.dcspca.org. I hope that helps.
Oh so mAny amazing older cats gets passed on for kittens...so sad..so plz take a look at the selection they currently have for ur next memeber of ur family..
Yes, sometimes it can take up to 24 hours though, especially on the weekends.
This place is an animal rescue and pet adoption center. They are funded fully through donations and pet adoption fees. Medicaid does not cover this to my knowledge.
I just opened the Dutchess County SPCA website at www.dcspca.org with no problems on my mobile device. Not sure why you are having an issue. Try clearing the cache on your computer to see if that helps. Either way, it is up and running.
Rabies is included the last time i checked... But if yhey need more then rabies, they will do it the same time
Im pretty sure you can but you will have to paperwork to take it home if i dont work out you can alway bring the animal back
Im not sure if tge spca can. You can also try husson valley animal rescue
Usually you need an appointment to turn a pet over to the shelter. The staff that handles animal intakes and the appointments is there Mon-Fri.

I'm sorry about the loss of your pet. The shelter accepts supplies for "pocket pets" and you can drop them off at the adoption center.
Yes. They will accept mailed donations. Be sure to include your contact information, your friend's information and of course the pet's name. This way, they can thank you and let your friend know you made a donation to the memory of his/her pet.
None at the moment. Birds are kind of a rare occurrence there. When they have them its usually lovebirds or something similar
I dont know 100% but probably not. Free events are usually prrtty exclusive to that day
Illegal maam
Plz call a animal control and 911 first thing tom to make a report, if done this is a serious offence
They're always happy to accept donations! And a blanket/towel is given away with every cat so we do go through them
Puppies 0 to 6 months = $350.00 Dogs 7 months to 6 years = $200.00 Senior dogs 7 years or older = $100.00 Special needs dog = $75.00

Michelle, you need to make sure your pet has necessary vet care. Please take him/her to a vet for some care & pain relief. If a vet at spca can't see your pet please call around and find a vet that can work with you.
Yes they have a doctor
Depends on how long he is there. He will be up for adoption. If no one picks him before you come back you have a chance of getting him back but you never know for sure.
I think so but you'll have to look into it
Not sure. Pls call the SPCA direct.
Not sure. No dogs here.
Only open till 5 pm today and closed Sun
Yes
Stray/lost/found dogs that are picked up by ACO or Good Samaritans go to Arlington Animal Hospital. The town has a contract with the animal hospital to hold stray dogs found in Lagrangeville.
