Visited the store to buy some toys for a new puppy. Also ask about a chain for the puppy to have a run. Was helped by a gentleman and found out we were looking for. Happy with the service
Deb Dattisman
Purchased a new pet name tag. Very quickly made and nice quality
Brandon Newlin
Great place for all pet related Vines a One-Stop shop and not bad prices
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
He literally asked if you can deliver salt water fish. It is a question as well a review.
Hey Bill! Yes, we do! You can get an idea of some of the selection on our website - https://www.thatpetplace.com
Well I was hoping to just give them the fish and maybe sell the tank/filter/light etc
Only when they have an adoption event (most Saturdays from 11am-4pm)
There is an exotic bird rescue within the building.
Thanks for the question - yes we get them in frequently. Best to call the store at 717-299-5691 before you come to make sure. They're usually priced around 129.99 but that can vary depending on the cost from the breeder at any given time.
Hey Princess - we don't get them frequently, but YES, currently we have 1 (1/13/2022). It is priced at $24.99
Yes you can. They just ask that they be vaccinated and up to date on shots before coming into the store.
What Chad said, thank you! Also cleaning cashier stations after transactions and an extended, socially-distanced queue.
Hey Katelyn. No, sorry we no longer sell those. The reason is that they require cooler water than the average species in our reptile room so it is not practical for us to offer them in their ideal conditions. Sorry about that. I'd encourage you to look online, lots of smaller breeders offer these. If you're in the Lancaster, PA area, there are some individuals through the local aquarium club who do, or at least, did.
Hey Britney M - yes we do. We have feeders mice/rats available in all sizes, including frozen.
Hey Maddy, sorry for the delay here. But, yes, we regularly get Jackson's Chameleons in stock. I would recommend giving the store a call at 717-299-5691 before stopping by to check the stock.
The stock is always changing when it comes to their fish, so it be best to call them first and ask what tetras they do have.
In the wild most tadpoles will eat micro plants and algae. Some species are omnivores and eat organic debris from decomposed plants or animals. In captivity they can eat a wide variety of food. For example baby food, egg yolk, and lettuce
Hey Terry - Yes we do! That Fish Place - That Pet Place has a built-in Dog Groomer - That Groom Room, and you may make an appointment for your dog there. You may check out their services here - https://www.thatpetplace.com/that-groom-room
Also, try feeding them the greens more often, just because they are desert animals they aren’t used to drinking from a dish. So a lot of their water should come from the greens they eat!
Hey Elina - YES! We have our Stingray touch tank here at all times. It's free - and we even do feeding shows on the weekend. Check it out here - https://www.thatpetplace.com/touch-tank
They do have some smaller gobies regularly. Other smaller fish from time to time.
Their staff there are very knowledgeable. I suggest going in and speaking to one of the fish room employees. It is an expensive hobby but I'm sure they can help guide you to something reasonable and good for starters!
You can get your ferret spayed. Most people spay their animals, as opposed to breeding them out of irrational panic
Yes as long as it is the blue original dawn soap and you make certain to rinse it well. I have a turtle myself and actually i use dawn to wash his shell regularly.
You need to contact That Fish Place directly.
Yes, a large variety year round. Please consider adopting from a shelter, though.
h
Yes just brought ferret babies less than a month ago and $ 250.00 each. When you buy them you cannot return. Also purchase Marshall's food if anything should arise with them within I believe 6 months and you have receipt you get your money back. So far had my 1 baby almost 3 months she is fine and my other baby almost 2 months and he's fine. Have an older 1 but she was given to me from outside Pa.
Should probably call or go in. I didn't see one today.
Button quails are almost impossible to find at a pet store. I lived 15 minutes from That Fish Place and visited once aweek and I never saw quails there. I no longer live in that area, so I'm not sure if they have them. Best to call them.
Yes they are good for poison dart froggies
Hey Isna, great question! The Feathered Sanctuary Bird Rescue actually operates out of our facility. They are doing visits by appointment only at this point, but I do know that they take parakeets. I would recommend giving them a call. You can get the number and other info. here. https://www.thatpetplace.com/articles/bird-adoptions
Hey Trish! Jesse at TFP-TPP, sorry you're having trouble reaching us, if you call in and ask for myself or a supervisor we can transfer you over to fish supplies so they can give you resolution
Hey Anissag - we get them regularly, but the demand right now is particularly high. I would recommend calling the store directly to get a sense of our inventory at any time. 717-299-5691
No. That Fish Place - That Pet Place at 237 Centerville road in Lancaster PA is the one and only!
Currently, as of 2/11/21 we do. They are $39.99/ea
When we have them (we currently do not), the current listed price is 24.99 (1/8/2021) but that could change depending on the cost of acquiring them from the breeder.
Hello! As of 1/7, we have Canaries for 129.99, but do not have Diamond Doves. We get the later on occasion, but not regularly. I'd recommend calling the store at 717-299-5691 to check before coming if you're looking for them.
No
Hey Chad, sorry we missed this - but yes, we had hours on Dec. 26th. To see any special hours of the store when they arise, check out https://www.thatpetplace.com/visit-us
Yes we carry it. Please call our store to confirm in stock.
Hey Jose! During store hours (M-Sa 9AM-9PM Su 10-6) our team does their best to answer the phone (unless all occupied with customers). During the week, we also have a call center to help handle this. The call center number is 1-888-THAT-PET. The retail store number is 717-299-5691. Hope that helps and sorry for your experience at this point.
Hey Princess Peach. Normally, when we're shipping fish, you can find the price here - https://www.thatpetplace.com/Assorted-Discus-208079 - but that's not the case right now (6/24/2020). We do have them available in our retail store currently at 49.99.
Hey Princess Peach. We occassionally get canaries and we recently got in Button Quail. I'd recommend calling the store before you make the trip at 717-299-5691 to get a sense of our selection at any given time as it can turn over quickly.
We get in a variety of guppies. You can see how they're sold here. https://www.thatpetplace.com/aquarium-livestock/freshwater-fish/livebearers/live-guppies
Hey Angel. Our website is primarily for our ecommerce business and, with that, we only sell and ship aquarium livestock. At this point we do not publish our direct inventory for live pets online because we don't ship it, and, as Martin noted below, it turns over very quickly. I would recommend calling the store directly to determine availability and cost on any reptile, small animal or bird at 717-299-5691. We do not directly sell Dogs or Cats, but do have an in-house cat rescue and frequent dog adoption events on the weekends featuring local rescues. Hope that helps!
Hey Dacianna - we get rabbits in pretty readily when they're available from our breeders. This being said, when we do, they tend to be purchased pretty quickly. The best way to know is to give the small animal room a call at 717-299-5691 before you make the trip.
Hello! We don't currently have any (as of 3/3/2020), but we have them on order. We are at the mercy of the breeders as to when they are available so the best thing you can do is call the store before you make the trip to check for sure. The number is 717-299-5691. Thanks.
Hey Ellen, thanks for your question. We don't typically purchase tropical fish from customers, no, for a variety of reasons. We can take them off your hands if you absolutely need to get rid of them and we have space, but we only accept these as surrenders and don't reimburse. Hope that helps!
I debit
Hey Candace, yes we do! Best to call to check on selection before you come - 717-299-5691. Thanks for your question!
Hey Justin - yes, we get Doves pretty regularly. As with all livestock, I'd recommend giving the store a call before you stop in to see current availability. The number is 717-299-5691. Thanks for your interest!
Hey Savannah, thanks for your question! We are open on MOST holidays, but are closed on the larger ones. We are not open on Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter and have abbreviated hours on most other holidays. Our special hours are listed here when the seasons approach so it's a great place to check - https://www.thatpetplace.com/visit-us
We get a variety of each in from time to time - best to call the store to check for availability - 717-299-5691
Hey Princess Peach - yes we do get both of these fairly regularly. As with most livestock, I'd recommend calling the store being making to trip to check on availability. 717-299-5691. Thanks.
Hey Zachary - unfortunately no, we do not. If there is space availabiity, we will take your fish if you no longer have the room for them, but we do not generally do trades in that matter.
Hey Rylee, no we do not. We are unable to offer for sale any native species, like Ringneck snakes.
Hey Sara - definitely not a silly question! Yes we do, in many different varities. Next time you're in the area, stop in and our team can help you find one that works for you!
Hey Ali. Sorry, we generally do not sell baby turtles. It is actually illegal for us to do so for many species.
Hey Cameron! Yes, we get them fairly regularly. I'd always recommend giving the store a call at 717-299-5691 to find out for sure before making the drive in. They can sell out pretty fast.
Hey Mert! Yes! We just got some in last week. I'd recommend giving the store a call at 717-299-5691 to see what the current availability is before making the trip though. Thanks for your question!
1.5 to 2 cups per day
Hey Linda! It's tough to say without seeing a clear picture of the fish - as well as knowing your tank's water parameters. The two medications you mention most definitely do not treat the same ailments. Please shoot an email to our team and they'll assist you further, and good luck with your fish!
Hey Willow. No, they don't. It's illegal to sell native PA species.
Hey Ana, sorry for the delay. Yes, we regularly have lovebirds in stock. I would recommend giving the store a call at 717-299-5691 before stopping by to check availability.
Hello Kassie, thanks for your question! - yes, we do sell some smaller varieties of parrots like conures which you can teach to talk. We also sell cockatiels pretty often. The pricing of these varies starting around $150 and dependant on species and whether or not they're hand-raised. As with most animals, it's a great idea to call the store in advance (717-299-5691) to determine what our actual stock is. In addition, The Feathered Sanctuary Bird Rescue is also located on our premise, and they offer many adoptable birds including many species we don't sell such as cockatoos and macaws. Hope that helps!
Hello Madison, thank you for your question. We actually have both types available pretty readily - including some fancier versions more traditionally sold as pets like dumbo rats. Always best to give the store a call to check inventory in advance if you're looking for something specific - 717-299-5691. Hope that helps!
We do not accept trade in fish. Surrenders are handled in a case by case basis depending on species and available space. Call and speak with the fish room manager prior to bringing anything to the store. Thanks!
Hey Maddy, thanks for your question. Currently (as of 5/15/2019) we have a female Jackson's Chameleon available for $60 and two sub-adult veiled chameleons for $100/ea. We also get in panther chameleons but not very frequently. I'd advise giving the store a call at 717-299-5691 to check stock availability before you make a trip. Thanks for your interest.
Hey Cinno - we get these guys PRETTY regularly...but if you want to know specifically, I'd recommend going here - https://www.thatpetplace.com/Corydoras-panda-213710 - and clicking on the 'Email me when item is back in stock' button. You can do this for other livestock you're interested in as well. Our online livestock availability mirrors that of our retail store. Please give the store a call at 717-299-5691 if you need help or have any additional questions.
Hello, thanks for your question. We begin hiring at age 16. If you have any additional hiring questions, please feel free to give our store a call at 717-299-5691 to learn more.
Hey Maura - thanks for your question. None of our rats/mice are sterile, so yes, you'll want to take precautions unless you want them to breed.
Hey Juan - thanks for your question. 'The Largest Pet Store in the World' is a tagline we used to use in our advertising because people in the pet industry would tell us this was the case. In the last 10 years so, we've realized that we are in fact, NOT, the largest (though may be the largest in the US, not sure), there is a larger pet store in Germany. Like Luke said, we are measured at 88,000 sq. ft. The one in Germany is over 100,000. Because of this, we have stopped using this in our advertising.
Did you change you filter recently? Did you buy any new fish and didn't quarantine it? Anything new that wasn't sterilized before putting it in the tank?
We do not! :(
Check with an associate in the fish room. They are really knowledgeable on both fresh and salt water fish.
Sorry, we do not currently have any in stock!
We do sell them both pretty routinely. Prices vary, please check the store for current pricing and stock. We also vary on the level of tameness of the birds depending on which particular breeder they come from! You can call the store with any questions about the current animals! 717-299-5691
Hey Travis! You can most definitely still get crickets in that quantity - but we don't pre-bag them anymore. If you come into the reptile room and go to the desk, they can help you get crickets in whatever quantity you require.
I am definitely sure they will have them but I would call them first. I know if they don't have them they can certainly work with you by ordering them or finding a place that will.
I think so but, it depends on the kind and if they have room. Id would call and ask before going.
Hey Mallory, thanks for your question. At this point, we haven't seen any from our breeders to bring in. This being said, they do fit the size of the birds we stock, so it is possible we would bring them in in the future. We also have a bird rescue on-site - Feathered Sanctuary - and, though they do not have any at this time, I would recommend checking with them as well periodically. You can find information about our store and Feathered Sanctuary here - https://www.thatpetplace.com/visit-our-retail-store
Hey Jayson - sorry to hear that! We take a lot of pride and effort in our fish systems and would never sell you a diseased fish on purpose. When it comes to fish diseases, high stress from transport, incorrect tank conditions or water parameters, other fish bullying, changing environment due to being added to a new tank leave fish vulnerable and their immune systems weakened. While signs of the disease may not be visible in a stable tank, a fish with a weakened immune system may be vulnerable to something present in the tank. We always inspect any fish sold to the best of our abilities before sending it home with our customers and you are absolutely welcome to inspect any fish yourself before it is bagged up to make sure it is up to your standards as well. We always recommend following our acclimation procedures as well as using a quarantine tank when adding new fish to help mitigate stress - https://www.thatpetplace.com/articles/aquarium-fish-acclimation-procedures.
They have an awesome selection and it changes. Call them.
THere are occasions where we can, but it depends on space availability. Please give the store a call at 717-299-5691 or stop in to find out for sure.
There's an adoption center there also with cats sometimes they have dogs. As for the store itself it varies all the time.
Aquarium Club of Lancaster County
To be 100% sure I would call them directly to ask.
Take it to the SPCA or humane society. They will take it in.
I have it in mine also. There are snails yhat eat it. High nitraites cause it. Their is stuff you can put in a carbon bag to help kill it also. You have to change it out evety couple days.
They always have them, but any new arrivals get some time to adjust to people and handling. This doesn't only apply to rabbits, but all new live animals.
Hi Alexa - thanks for your question! Yes, you have to be over 18 or accompanied by a guardian.
They don't provide spay/neuter services. Contact your veterinarian for pricing on that.
Hey Dominic - no we don't actually due to the fact that those available from our suppliers are typically native species.
Hey MB - thanks for your questions! We regularly have rescue groups in the store with adoptable animals. I would encourage you to check out our events list on this page - https://www.thatpetplace.com/visit-our-retail-store. As of this writing, the largest pet adoption event we have coming up is Saturday, September 15th 2018 - our Meet the Rescues event!
Hey Gerbils! We don not typically have animals for adoption from That Fish Place - That Pet Place, but some of the rescues we work with do. Centerville Pet Rescue, located within our store, occasionally has animals for adoption. Check them out at facebook.com/centervillepetrescue
You can call and check but the answer must likely be no because they say it will disturb there environment
5 gallon will be perfect. I would suggest getting the tank online at Amazon or ebay, they are very pricey in store.you can get the fish, decor and filter from this store. You can save yourself about 30 bucks buying the tank online. However, great selection of fresh and salt water fish they have many different colored beta fish, and a great array of decor. Also, the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They will be able to answer any questions you have while you are there. Also they have pamphlets you can take home that will teach you what you need to know about your new little friends.
Around 40 dollars on sale like 50 regular price
Don't no just give them call they have a lot of knowledgeable and nice people who can help u
Yup, just call ahead if you don't want to chance whether or not they are in stock.
Hey Alexa - yes we get axolotls from time to time, depending on their availability from our suppliers. I would recommend calling the store at 717-299-5691 before you come to find out for sure. Thanks for your questions! UPDATE TO THIS AS OF 2020 - We have decided to no longer bring in Axolotls. Because of the conditions in our reptile room, we don't feel we can easily replicate the lower water temperatures they require - so we have decided not to carry them anymore. Sorry :(.
Hey Alexa, no, unfortunately, we don't see these available from our suppliers very often.
They will let you return or exchange.
This is not the store answering you. You need to call the store.
You need to contact the store. This is NOT the store
James please do. I have some cold steel he could play with. Can't promise he will leave in the condition as he arrived.
Call and find out when rescue animals will be there !! Thats the only time they have some to adopt !!
They have tons of stuff I'd be surprised if they don't. Depending on how far u live from the store it might be best to call first.
Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday but shipments are held 24 hours before being sold
I beleive they do but that is really cool that you have a shark honestly
Hey Maritza - we do have 125 gallon tanks at our retail location, but their prices can vary. I would recommend checking with the store at 717-299-5691 before coming for an accurate price check.
The Dog Training Classes are offered through K9Connect. Any information about them can be found here - http://www.thatpetplace.com/dog-training-classes. Currently, the 6 week class is $99
No they have all kinds of salt water fish feeder fish hermit crabs but no jellyfish sadly.
