My Olde English Bulldogge required surgery on both of her knees. They did the first one a year ago and she healed with full use of her leg with no issues. The second about a week ago and she is just starting to put weight on it and they did dissolvable internal stitches which has already healed up. The staff was extremely friendly and the surgeon took the time to explain the surgery in detail with photos of similar surgeries.

Very busy, but I got Lily in for care! The staff showed true concern about her issues and she was treated in a timely manner. From the doctor to the veterinary techs, Lily was truly in good hands! Thank you for caring for my girl! Pat

This is the place that is recommended by every veterinarian I know in Southwest WA and Astoria area. I called and they said they would be ready for my dog who lost the use of her back legs. After the 2 hour drive, I found the staff team very informative and responsive. They supported her back to a walking condition! The vet gave me options and helped me with answers that I needed to make the best decision for my canine companion. I was very impressed. I honestly didn’t think they could top Dove Lewis in Portland. They surpassed DL in professional service and care for my dog. I will make the drive to Columbia River Veterinary Specialists if we have an emergency again.

Columbia River Vet Specialists are the best! My dog had a ruptured disc in early Jan and not only did the staff and doctor stay late to be sure she had a much needed surgery within 24hrs, they have been nothing but kind and friendly to me and my beloved Nova. I can’t say enough nice things about the dedication the staff has and my admiration for their work! Because of them she is on her way to walking again and I am so grateful. Thank you!!

Questions & Answers

How are there prices

I find they are not that bad. For the normal visits. I feel some of the prices are a little bit high on the tests and meds. But, I haven't went anywhere else to compare in so many years. I'm willing to pay the price to know that. My baby has the best health care. And that's what he gets there. The assistants are wonderful. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. They are always willing to listen to what you have to say.

Do they do rabbits

I have a baby kitten and I need to know when it is that I get her for shots

CRVS does not do routine things like immunizations so that they can be available for emergency and specialty care, but typically, kittens start getting vaccines at about 8 weeks of age. Your regular vet will be able to help you based on the latest recommendations.

Watching "Panda Paws pet rescue show" and they've just taken Prof. Clovis into surgery. *sending good vibes!!* But I'm curious - why do surgeons put booties on their feet? Does this really protect the patient from germs on shoes?

Shoe covers are important as they help maintain a sanitary environment by eliminating tracked-in dirt and microbes and they protect the wearer from accidental spills and bodily fluids.

About how much do charge for doing Ultra sound to check cat's GI system? Our normal vet doesn't have equipment and refer to you.

Kd Lee | Jan 30, 2019
Alexandrea Herkert | Jan 31, 2019

You should call them and ask. It depends on what type of specialist you have to see and if they need to do additional testing, but usually for just ultrasound it'll come out to about $500.
