Bought a watermelon for $10 It was rotten inside, I called about getting a new one as the one I bought wasn't edible, I was SOL....no refunds or returns. In the trash it went. The same melon is $4- 5 bucks elsewhere.

Staff is friendly and helpful, I've never had a bad experience at the Market.

Pros Only market for 50 miles, well stocked, friendly employees, wait time minimal. Very grateful to have had this market during the pandemic and kudos to Ray keeping the market open and stocked. Cons Only market for 50 miles. Most produce is from Mexico and the low grade quality of the produce does not support the outrageous high prices. Have to watch the expiration dates on perishable items like produce, eggs, breads. Meat quality has gone down yet prices have increased significantly. I realize there is inflation factors and prices have increased everywhere. I also expect to pay a bit more at a rural small market. That being said, this market is so expensive now I can’t justify buying here any longer. Making a point to go off the hill for grocery shopping more often and in between will do without something rather than running to the market like I used to.

Store hours are I believe 8am - 9pm
Masks, distancing. Felt safe.
Yes, they have things like prepackaged salad kits, brussel sprouts and a few other things.
I grew up in the grocery business. Small store like FP can't compete with the chain stores. Often we would pay more wholesale than big stores and Walmart was selling for retail. Wal-Mart basically finds what the manufacturer cost is and tells the manufacturer what they will pay them for the item. Usually they pay pennies over the cost of manufacturing cost. They buy so much that they force companies to barely break even. I always try to buy local at local owned businesses too keep them going and alive. Meanwhile Wal-Mart workers live below the poverty level. So you have to figure what the gas savings and convenience is worth to you.
