I was sitting next to someone who was blasting hip-hop loudly. I love hip-hop but it's a stretch to imagine that everyone on the beach is dying to listen to your music. I wish people were more considerate towards others who want to use the resources too.

Compared to most if our Ct Public beaches, it us the one to go to. People respect your space. But because its limited right now, if your going on a weekend I'd advise u to get there before 8:30am. It has been closing do to limited capacity around 9am. Best days during the week are Wednesday and thursday.

The camp office sells firewood and there are many people who live in the area who will sell it in front of their houses for the honor System. It is not recommended to bring your own wood even if you're in Connecticut because of various invasive species that can attach themselves to the wood and invade the state park.

All season beach for me . I go on a sunny winter day if I could it's relaxing.

You can camp in a tent and I think they may have camper or rv areas not to sure about that part...I wouldn't sleep in the car in the parking lot but maybe you could get away with it in the camping area the parking lot closes at sun set and you can get locked in they may either ticket you or call the cops probably not a good idea

Glad you asked. I'm Actually a park ranger at Rocky Neck! As of last year CT has added a $10 fee on every vehicles registration every two years allowing for there to be no charge for CT residents. Just remember if you are in a vehicle with out of state plates you will have to pay the out of state cost even if you show I'd or valid CT registration.

Yes i believe parking is free until season starts this memorial day 2019. But after that for CT residents its now free because the state collects it at vehicle registration time. For out of state vehicles they will charge. I don't believe its more than $7-$10. But the CT parks website has that info. I was there a few weeks ago and the bathrooms were closed just fyi.

No, they added a $ 10.00 beach tax to every car registed in CT. Even though 90 % will never go to the shore. Seniors were FREE before. But now beach is at capacity by 9am on weekends.

You could possibly over by the Pavilion side, but there is no nearby parking, so you,d be carrying The Kayaks quite a distance. You cannot launch them at the swim area.

I'm not sure what you mean. I see kids ages 14 hanging out at the beach together without parents. There is a lifeguard on duty to watch the swimmers.

Not generally. No balls in the water or boogie boards allowed. The lifeguards are really strict. If you go down past where the river inlets, you can sometimes use boards or floaters
