Could not be happier with Dr. Dane and all of her wonderful, exceptional staff to include the full-time working four-legged ones Ollie and Doc! My Tammy who was suffering from a fairly severe concussion for weeks had a variety of worrisome symptoms that affected her every day quality of life. Even basic tasks that we often take for granted were becoming more difficult. Her symptoms were not improving with time and natural healing. Tammy was apprehensive about seeing a specialist but also looking for some relief and reassurance as her symptoms included rapid changes in emotions, short term memory loss, and at times the inability to complete a thought. Heather, the always thoughtful and invaluable Practice Administrator for Carolina Brain Center, was able to schedule Tammy very quickly for a first time patient examination by Dr. Dane. Dr. Dane was very thorough, efficient, and calming. Everything was explained in terms we all understand and nothing was rushed. All of her staff work in concert and are all very compassionate and patient. The testing is scientific and technical but not probing, stressful, or too exhaustive. Actually, Tammy's experience was very positive and the office itself a warm, welcome, and relaxed place from the moment you enter (the very opposite of what she was expecting). Within a couple of days, Dr. Dane was able to deliver sets of all test results, her assessment with detailed analysis, and recommend an on-site treatment plan that could start within days. Without delay, we decided it was absolutely urgent and necessary. After 7-days of therapy and treatment, the results are amazing! A complete 180 with effective, measurable results and major improvement being observed by day 4 or so. Tammy is now very positive, more energetic, and reporting that she feels not only normal again but even better than she felt in a long time. We were lucky to have been referred to the Carolina Brain Center and may not have found Dr. Dane or her style of holistic treatment otherwise. Actually, I do not believe a doctor referral is necessary. And for me, as I am not the patient, was also treated like family and actually was asked and allowed to participate in one of Tammy's treatments. The experience was very beneficial, eye opening, and therapeutic. Tammy could not be happier with Dr. Dane and her many staff members Heather, Meghan, Kyle, Kevin, Ollie, and Doc, and has made many new friends here at the Carolina Brain Center. Thank you! And Tammy is looking forward to her next follow up appointment.

I have a traumatic brain injury along with several other major health issues. I contacted Dr. Danes to see if she could help me. I drove 3 hrs to see her for the assessment and testing. She sent me home with a home program to do since I live so far away. I was doing the exercises and checking in with her as she requested. Late last year, I had a new major medical diagnosis that was devastating and took all my energy and attention (of which I have very limited amount due to TBI). I was unable to perform the home program for several months. A few weeks ago, I felt like I was ready to start working with Dr Danes on her home program again. Things were a bit more stable with all my other issues, so I was fully ready to move forward. I contacted her and let her know what has been going on, and told her I was ready to work with her on my TBI issues once again. This is the letter I got back from her: -------------------------------------- Hi Sharon, Our new patient advocate, Teri Gray, let me know you had called earlier this week with the intension of coming back in for care. Because it has been a year since seeing you, we would need to start with a full examination. What has changed that would allow you to participate in exercises that I may recommend? I know money was a concern for you. So, I don’t want you to waste time or money by being examined and then not be able to follow through with things that may help. It became obvious last year that an at-home program was not going to work for you. So, you would need to more in-person treatment to get any benefit. And, I am not sure that this is financially feasible for you. Thanks responding, Darcy D. Dane, DC, DACNB --------------------------------------------------------- I was so offended and hurt by her response. And I was devastated at the fact that I did not have any viable options regarding help with my TBI. She literally sucked my hope from me that I would ever get better. She was incredibly rude and judgmental. She said I couldn't afford it, and that it was 'obvious last year that an at-home program was not going to work' for me, and that it might be a waste of time and money to start up with her again. SHE SAID "I AM NOT SURE THAT THIS IS FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE FOR YOU". :-((( I looked back through my emails with her to see if I was reading her wrong, that maybe she is just a poor communicator. I had forgotten that a similar tone and rudeness had been shown to me before by Dr Danes. It was not me misreading her. This is who Darch Danes REALLY IS. While looking through my emails, I found another email from Dacy Danes regarding 'attacks on Google' reviews', and soliciting a good review from me. The 'attacks' were patients who left her a negative review. Very unprofessional, IMO. Here is the email: ----------------------------------------------------------- Hi Sharon, There have been two recent attacks on Google. If you could post a short review, I would be grateful. Darcy D. Dane, DC, DACNB --------------------------------------------------------------- Darcie Danes is a rude woman. She apparently only wants success stories that praise DarcyDanes' greatness, with matching Google reviews. She crushed my hope that she could help me, telling me I did not do the work. She told me I was too poor to afford her, and it would likely be a waste of time and money. Anyone who has a brain injury can tell you that recovery is not a straight line; there are periods of improvement, and there are setbacks. It is a difficult, slow, frustrating road. DarchDanes was unwilling to show me any compassion, knowing my situation. She was demeaning to me personally. She is a bad 'doctor'. Take care before deciding to see her. IMO she should have her license revoked. She is not good for TBI.

I am currently going to a seizure dr in Greenville. My regular dr is no longer there and I haven't found another there that I really like. I have read great reviews about this office. Do I need a referal from my regular dr to get an appt?

You do not need a referral. However, we do not manage medications at this office. We work along side your prescribing physician. We work on identifying any driving factors that contribute to seizure. Sometimes there are some factors and sometimes not. We also look into diet as diet changes can help with some seizures. You can set up a 15 minute consultation at no charge by filling out the consultation request form found on our website. This will give us time to discuss your case to see if we are a good fit.

Do you see patients that have possibly experienced a TIA? I had an episode back in February and in 2017 left side of my face went numb. Primary physician wants the MRI I had done in 2017 read by a neurologist. Can you help with this? Thank you
