Very beautiful, unique and clean cabins. Nice outdoor spaces for groups. We had fun going to local beaches, which were great for swimming. Enjoyed renting the owner's pontoon and spending the day on a chain of lakes. Walkable to town. Highly recommend this place!

Extremely disappointed in the misleading information on the website and how the manager interacted and communicated to us via email and by phone. Website states 3 night minimum and that is exactly what I requested. However the response I got to this request (the 3 nights requested were available per the website) via email was that I could not book these 3 nights and instead I’d have to start my stay 2 nights earlier than my Requested start date (and end earlier) and would have to book 4 nights instead? When we called to discuss our options, Troy was extremely rude and told us he didn’t need us to book and he would wait for someone else to Book the entire week/block available. He clearly did not want our business and I will absolutely not be booking here anytime in the future as a result.

Came here 4 times now, love this place! Cabins are awesome! There's the honey bear which is the cabin we get. Perfect for 2 people but they have larger cabins also with an upstairs. Owner Troy is a very nice guy.

This was our fifth glorious year at the Big Bear Hideaway! It is such a uniquely beautiful place. You will not find woodwork of this caliber and creativity anywhere else. Among the great amenities are outstanding mattresses. We had a 2 week visit and awoke every morning refreshed because of the high quality mattresses. Bobbie and Troy are very gracious hosts. We have already reserved for next year!
