An absolute favorite when in the vicinity of Cornell University or Ithaca. The grounds and trails are well kept and safe. Bring your camera as there are photo opportunities along the entire trail. Please do your part and clean up after yourself when you visit this lovely oasis.

This is wonderful gift for Ithaca. If I live here I would walk this trail at least twice a week. So refreshing.

There is no place to camp near cascadilla, it's in the middle of the city. But you can camp in other places in ithaca. Like at buttermilk falls state park. It's about 20 mins from cascadilla
It closed a little bit early last year, as a rock-slide made the trail unsafe toward the end of fall. So, you may want to check closer to your travel date if you are coming from far away. The trail is fixed up and open as of today (Sept. 18th) but usually closes for the Winter in November or "first freeze" each year.
Yes it is open! We went last weekend and walked the entire length to the cornell campus.
Yes..this trail is pretty much open all days
Was there yesterday still closed at that end but open at triangle park.
We were on the trail Saturday October 31.
At the top of the gorge there is the Swartz performing arts center with a public patio and as of August 19 the new Collegetown Bagels store. Along the trail are areas to sit that I've had eaten at.
Closed being that the trail need minior repair to walkway.
Hi there is no charge to go hiking .parking is free at Cornell university. Enjoy the beautiful views
Like maybe 1.5 miles if that it's beautiful though it's a short cut for the student of the college so it's got alot of stone walkways and stairs
