THANKFULLY STILL ALIVE NO THANKS TO THESE WORKERS! When I was still a child I saw a woman here who told those working on my case that I made it all up for attention. IM NOW DIAGNOSED AUTISTIC and no longer in contact with my abuser. These people are not here to help you IN THE SLIGHTEST. If I could sue I would, these people are put in these places on purpose they are all CORRUPT.

I can’t believe how long have to wait to Speak with someone. After waiting and waiting they hang up on me.

The NY Benefits website has a "prescreening tool" available --- your son will need to answer the questions asked and when finished, the tool determines which services he is eligible to receive and will tell you about each service in detail. He can also submit an application online for food stamps (SNAP) and TA (Temporary Assistance) through the same site. The website is: http://www.ny.mybenefits.gov I hope this helps. 👍
Yes
I'm sorry I don't have that number
You'd have to go to your local department of social services and ask for emergency housing ,and they should be able to help you, but if it's after 5:00 p.m. call 211 and they have to house you and transport you to the nearest shelter.....they will not abandon you ....and will provide the help you need
Yes they were, but only by appointment but you can drop of any paperwork in the drop box inside the front doors.
Yes. Currently it is best to apply via the phone
IDK their algorithms for assistance. From what I've heard, the max they award for housing is $417. Fill out EM (Emergency Assistance Program) application. You can also look at New York State Mortgage Assistance Program (https://nysmap.org). Also search for RECAP (Regional Economic Community Action Program, Inc) they can counsel you to different help organizations. DO NOT count on DSS, expect a denial then file fore a Fair Hearing Request (FHR). I have been denied 6 times, filed 6 FHR and won all 6.
Yes you can as long as you live in the orange county
