Since I am my husband’s caretaker, before knee replacement I compared both the options of in-home or in-patient therapy. I concluded that in-patient therapy would offer me the ability to progress faster to assume caring for my husband. I made this facility aware of my situation both while touring the facility and reminded them during my evaluation. They made the commitment to suit my needs. Arrived at the facility on a Friday where I was evaluated, and it was determined that I would qualify for OT & PT. Saturday I was put in “GROUP” therapy for approximately 20 minutes. In this group were three other patients who either chose not to or did not have the cognitive ability to participate so most of the time was spent on getting them to participate. Sunday there was no therapy, which I was informed from the very beginning, no problem. Monday I kept seeing patients heading to the gym so late morning I went to check on my status only to be told that I was not scheduled for the day, I was scheduled for GROUP therapy on Tuesday. By this time I had been in the facility for 4 days. There had been no goals established for me, or if there was I was not aware of them. I had not been given any personalized therapy, or any exercise program to follow when not scheduled for therapy. I was walking the halls and doing the exercises in my room that the PT dept at the hospital had given me. When I addressed my concerns with the director of therapy I was told that most patients only wanted to exercise in the gym, they want to rest when in their room! If I had not addressed my concerns, I would have had another GROUP session on Tues (day 5 in the facility). After discussing my concerns and requesting that I be discharged with the director of therapy, I immediately was told I had met all my goals and had shown enough improvement to go home. In regards to the care experienced during my stay, it took them 2 days to get my pain pills. When I inquired as to the status, I was always informed that they cannot control what the pharmacy does. There were very few times that my medication was dispensed correctly. First night I asked for an extra pillow, and they told me they don’t have any extras (they finally came up with one several hours later). I waited up to 1 1/2 hours to get my ice pack when requested. Keep in mind that I brought 2 ice packs from the hospital. Excuses were they were not put in the freezer, or they were not put in a place in the freezer where they were frozen enough, or they just did not know where they were. In the middle of the night a resident’s tv on the opposite end of the hall was so loud it was like I had my tv on and I had to constantly ask that it be turned down. I was assisted with 1 shower in 7 days. I witnessed the social worker belligerently yelling at the resident in the room next to me. After belittling her son for several minutes for wanting to bring her home, he started in on the resident yelling “I need to know right now, do you plan on staying or are you going home, you know if you go home you will be doing so AMA, do you know that that means”? After yelling this questions at her several times his last words were if you want to go home you need to find your own way home as we do not provide transportation. If you look at most of the positive reviews for this facility, you will find that the majority of the reviews are posted by reviewers who post reviews for multiple health care facilities, I was an actual resident. The facility is gorgeous post their remodel. It is also kept clean and with a strong emphasis on patient care and service. Keep it up!

Very clean place nice remodel. The staff & doctors are very friendly & care about the people in here. If for some reason I must go back to rehab I pick this one again clean place.
