This park is more of a boat launch than an actual "park" like the larger Monteith and Bowers rock facilities downtown. However, last visit, there were well shaded grassy areas for hanging out or picnic, and the relative smallness and isolation of the park made it safe, quiet, and cool. If you're in it for recreation, downtown is better. If you want a quiet place to have lunch outside in the shade without the potential hassle of other people or campers, or maybe you want to stop and walk the dog, Takena park is for you, Bonus : a placard tells you the origin of the word Takena, which you will see all around you in Oregon. Now you know a second reason why Albany (which, TBH, is my "home" so I'm not ragging it) is sometimes referred to as a toilet!
