Broward County is the valley of gastronomic despair so finding quality authentic Mexican food was never on my radar. Located in the heart of Little Chihuahua nestled between competing taco shops, Caribbean fish markets and Salvadorian Pupusarias, Tacos El Papi bangs out their namesake prize with frenetic and rewarding abandon. They host parking level outdoor seating on weekends and cramped interior seating all the time. They have a gas fired "plancha" making real deal tacos with meats from all the animal places. Topped with cilantro and onions and served with grilled jalapeños, green onions and fresh cucumber rounds these meaty morsels are priced right around $3 each. Their in house sauces are spicy and perfect and you can wash it all down with Rosa de Jamaica or Horchata. Five smashing stars!
