First let me start off by saying that I have purchased stones at Bernie’s many times before and have never had any type of issue. I have always found the owner very passionate and helpful in the past but I must have caught her on a bad day today. I went by with the intention of buying some stones as accents for a large aquarium that I am building. I was very polite and asked the the owner two simple questions; where the stones in the bill area sold by the pounds to which she responded no only by the bag or ton. I said ok and proceed to ask her if I bought a couple of bags could I mix stones in the bag and be charged the price of the most expensive type of stone in the bag? Essentially overpaying for the convenience being able to mix the stones in the bag. This question really annoyed her as you could visually see it in her face and gave me a very curt reply saying that I couldn’t mix them, pick them out, that it was what it was. I responded with a thank you and left. She may have been having a bad day which we are all entitled to have and she has been great in the past hence my three start rating as opposed to a one star rating. Sadly, I don’t know that I will be returning to Bernie’s despite the fact that I was planning on making a decently large purchase after the summer is over two do the front and backyard of my new home. I will just buy the stones for my home at the local landscaper or another stone yard.

We love Bernie’s Rocks. Emily is the best. We showed her a pic of our backyard, which was unsightly Bermuda grass and she gave us the idea to rip out all the grass and replace it with rocks. So we created a rock and rain garden with jade, marble and coral pea rocks from Bernie’s, along with native tropical plants. It was a buttload of backbreaking work but it looks amazing!
