This was (without exception) the best psychiatric facility I have ever been to. The staff was highly knowledgeable in their field and demonstrated excellent patient care services. I actually left the facility in a better mental state than I did when I arrived. That has NEVER happened to me before. Of course, there were some comparatively minor issues present, but overall completely worth it. Thank you, Unit 6!

This place saved my life, including the staff. Molly, George, Tye, Eileen, the nurses, the techs, the cleaning people I wish I could remember all of their names I’ve been in some pretty horrible facilities and I felt taken care of here and like I did things right this time around because I was given the opportunity, they monitor your meds so well, the units are so clean. I literally cannot express how grateful I am for this opportunity and if I’m being honest it was hard leaving. I hope this gets back to the staff because they deserve to know, and they work extremely hard.

I was disappointed with my stay there. Most of the Nurses have bad attitude, there is not much to do and I contracted Covid there after 6 days of being there, despite having 2 negative test the day of admission and 3 days later. The 3rd was positive which I most likely contracted from my Room mate that was Coughing and Sick. I asked the Nurses if I could move to an empty room because I can’t sleep with his noises, snoring and talking to himself. They pacified me. 2 days later I had a huge headache from not being able today sleep. I again asked a different Nurse about moving as I am starting to cough with a headache. I was tested for Covid and both of us were positive and discharge me 10:25 pm. They never checked the rest of the patients which me and my room mate interacted with during breakfast lunch smoke break were no mask is required very shameful.

That is wrong about carrier, it is a detox center and you have to either pay or insurance has to cover the rehab which is 30 days. Detox patients can leave anytime they want but 3 to ten days is recommended and it can take up to ten for Dr to ok you to leave...meaning they feel you are ready . Carrier has great food and the Blake unit is awesome. You get to smoke and free time when meetings are not going on, and you get to be out of your room until 12am. There's basketball court, a weight room, tv-xbox room. This place and (most) staff is awesome. I actually didn't want to leave!!
A visit with a child can be set up but it has to be signed off on by the doctors, social workers, and Princeton house. I forget what age can come to regular visiting hours.
Three or four basic sets of clothes, sandals, tie-less shoes, sealed toiletries (small in size). If you smoke, sealed packs only. No food, no radios.They have laundry facilities and meals are plentiful.
i was there for a short while in the adolescent unit. not sure if its the same w/ everything but i just had to give urine samples
Going through the process is all about the recovery but yes they do give good treatment there. Best of Luck!!! And you can only do one day at a time......
