For years I've been hearing about MJ Stevens and how they are one of the best Fish Fry's in the area, so me and my girlfriend decided to finally see what all the hype was about. We arrived and immediately I found the location and outside signage to be very cozy and inviting. We were told that it would be a 25-30 minute way but the restaurant has a very nice outdoor Bar/Seating area. They also utilize an intercom system so it's very easy to hear when your name is called for a table. The amount of time we waited was perfect, as I had an old fashioned at the bar and then the table was ready. We both got the 4 piece fish fry which costs around 20 dollars which I thought was pricey but boy was I surprised by the portions, 4 large pieces of fish, fries, bread and coleslaw. The fish isn't "generic" breaded cod that you get at some places, it has a very unique taste and you can see the seasoning on it. Overall I enjoyed the entire experience and I'm my opinion this is the best fish fry in Washington county.

Most of the food was great - the bread, salads especially, and my wife's prime rib was divine. I got the Memphis dry rub ribs and while the flavor was very good, there was simply too much of it, making it incredibly salty. They were falling off the bone though. Service was great too.

Excellent steak sandwich, great Reuben sandwich, and a better than average fish fry. I recommend reservations, but you will enjoy your time spent here. Extremely friendly and personable staff, especially Julie, my Social Chemist (Bartender)

We go during the lull time. Around 2:30ish. Great lunch specials and bartenders. Food is fabulous.
The breading has not changed at all, the same person is making the breading. The original recipe is being used. The fish is breaded fresh Wednesday and Friday morning.
Wait staff wears masks and I personally saw them sanitize tables and chairs. Don't remember if they wore gloves or not.
Yes they have outdoor seating. When I was there two weeks ago NO ONE was wearing masks or gloves.

There is not a buffet on Christmas day it is closed. There is a buffet on Christmas Eve 11 to 2
Giving them a call would probably be best. Then to can check date available as well!
They do have a Mothers day brunch and yes, you do need to make a reservation.
