Widespread shifter problems should've been recognized as it is written about on the internet. It took 3 breakdowns before problem was recognized and only with VW central's help. That would suggest that electric car specialists need more communications and/or training. The part did arrive reasonably quickly compared to earlier reports. Also I was charged for a loaner I was told would be no charge (however the cost was only $21.
