My experience was fine. First in line at 6am and delighted to find out office opens at 7am. The officer was quick and efficient. I did make sure beforehand that I had the correct documents for Real ID.

The staff at this DMV need to be re-educated about public service. They have a real attitude and disrespect the people. They give extremely poor instructions. They do not look us the eyes. They forget they are supposed to work for the people and are paid from our income tax dollars. Absolutely terrible lowly educated staff who lack work ethics and fundamental human skills.

It’s the DMV what would you expect. If you are an immigrant, and need to renew your driver license, make sure they don’t trick you. They are fully not prepared or knowledgeable.

The title and tag office is excellent. They are privately contracted through NC DMV. What a difference that makes! everything was super fast and super smooth

Yes you can. Walk ins are accepted but go early. I was there around 9am.
We came from out of state so we couldn't apply online. The walk in appointment was done the same day and received a temporary drivers licence. It took 9 working days to get the permanent drivers licence.
Yes
Yes, but you have to wait outside. They call 3 walk-ins at a time after 2 appointment slots are over.
😢😭
🤔
Yes. Birth certificate, ss #, North Carolina address.
They do test your eye sight and knowledge of road signs with any imagery removed (ie red octagon would be a stop sign, etc)
U have to have a new one
Making an appointment helps to get in line faster, but they do take walk-ins (I was a walk-in)
1) proof of identity, 2) proof of your social security number, 3) proof of residence document.
Yes, make an appointment. You can skip the line and not wait hours. But normally they are weeks to a month or so behind?
Get there early. The lines move during normal hours; however, when summer time hits and the high school students drive for their license - well you can forget it till late August.
No and it can be done online at dmv.org
Unsure
Yes. Check the required documents needed before you go. You do not want to have to come back and wait again.
Mine were, unknowingly, suspended for 5 years. Thank God I didn't get any tickets or violate any regulations during that time. I only had to pay the fee to get my license reinstated.
You may renew your vehicle's registration up to 90 days before it expires. The expiration date can be found on your vehicle registration card or the sticker on your vehicle's license plate. The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will mail to your last address on record a reminder, which includes the registration renewal fee as well as property taxes due.
You can just walk in but having an appointment is highly recommended. It means you don’t have to wait in line. But you need to schedule about 4-6 weeks in advance. Well worth it though. Be sure when you check in you say “I have an appointment” so the check in knows who you are.
