We were having several problems with our well system and called the local recommended company. They suggested a repair that was expensive and didn't make any sense. I'd seen the Water Specialist trucks in the neighborhood, so I gave them a call. They came out and performed detailed tests to find out what the problem really was (not what the other company had suggested), showed us the information, and gave us a quote. We went with the Water Specialist, they came back out and did the repair. Good, friendly, experienced technicians, who did great work and explained what was going on. They did the job, quickly and at a very fair price. Our water problem is solved! I'd definitely recommend them if you have water problems!

Huge thanks to Randy M. who came out to my home for an annual check of my water treatment system, softener, and well pump. He also discovered an issue with my water tank reservoir that could have burned out my well pump. He explained everything in great detail, making sure i understood the details and fixed the problem quickly. Fantastic, friendly service, which seems so rare these days. Thanks Randy!!

Over the past several years we've had a number of water issues relating to our well. In each instance, Tim and his team have been incredibly responsive in getting to our home and resolving our issues. Earlier this week we had family arrive from out of town on Sunday night and zero water Monday morning. Technicians were on our property by 10:30 Monday morning and our well was up and running before the end of the day. These guys know what they are doing, take the time necessary to make sure you do too, and are professional in every way. I highly recommend them!

Questions & Answers

I am thinking about buying a house on well water and have never had a well before.Should I get it inspected before we purchase the house?

Yes absolutely! In the last 10 years or so it has become very important to the well and septic systems inspected by someone who specializes in these types of systems. It is probably a good idea to also have some level of water testing done. They main thing would be to make sure whomever you have do an inspection is licensed and has the experience to give you good information.

I am on city water and I am concerned about PFOA/PFOS substances that has been reported in the news as showing up in my drinking water system. Do you offer treatment for these? Do you offer any type of free consultation?

Yes we do offer solutions for this. This problem has mostly shown up in Chatham County and some surrounding areas. We are a distributor for Water-Right products. There are one of the few companies that currently offer a product that is Certified in the removal of PFOA/PFOS Substances. We do offer an onsite consultation at no charge for these and other water quality issues.

How do I know when my septic tank needs pumping?

Most Environmental Health Departments recommend having your septic tank pumped every 3-5 years. If it has a filter then that should be cleaned annually. Unfortunately by the time you start to see issues come up indicating it needs to be pumped it can mean bigger problems and headaches. More so than any other system in a home, your septic system should be maintained earlier rather than later. Thank you for the question!

How long can ones store water in a stainless steel tank withowithout circulations

It would depend on the quality of the water used to fill the tank. It would also depends on if the tank is sealed or has air coming in from the atmosphere. Generally speaking, it should last from a few weeks to a month depending on the variables.

I have a water softener and I am concerned about how much salt is in my water. Do you know how much it adds to the water?

Chris Gordon | Sep 19, 2020

Good Question! It really depends on how much hardness is in the water. The amount of sodium added back into the water when removing hardness is directly related to how much hardness you are taking out. The more hardness the water has the more sodium that is needed to add back into the water. A typical amount of hardness we see in the Triangle Area could be 7-9 grains. At this level you would add about 60 Milligrams of sodium per quart of water. 60 Milligrams is approximately the amount of sodium in one egg. For comparison, two slices of white bread contain approximately 228 Milligrams of sodium.
