Was hoping to fish, however, I have no boat. You do need a boat to fish here, there is no place to fish from land. There is a trail head to the palmetto trail. I did not venture through there so I can't say what you'll find.

Bates Bridge landing is one of my favorite places to go fishing at nice parking lot and very good boat ramps , I've been use this landing for 25+ years.

No...I went there to check and no there aren't any spots to fish from land. There is a trail head to the palmetto trail which I didn't hike to see if there was anything along there.
