This place is exceptional! The horses were perfectly trained and it's gorgeous. The horses are well taken care of and respected.

I have just purchased my 4th horse in 4 years from Dead Broke farm. That makes three horses purchased from Carla and one horse purchased from her daughter, Dana. I could not be more pleased. Carla is open and honest about her product. She will tell you if the horse you are looking at will be a good fit for you and your family. Even if it’s not what you want to hear, her honesty will keep you safe. She knows horses and has been around horses her entire life. She knows a problem horse from a project horse. A trail horse from show potential. A kid safe/husband safe horse from one who may need a more experienced rider. She will not sell someone a horse that she feels they cannot handle or who may get them hurt. In fact, I have known her to bring in the most beautiful breeds just to turn around and refuse to market them to her clients because she knows they are not safe. She will let you come out and ride. And spend as much time as needed with the animal of your choice. She has no problems or issues with Vet Checks or Pre-Purchase exams. (Although this is a personal choice- I have had pre-purchase exams done on some horses and then I’ve chosen not to on others and just let my own vet come out at home to establish a baseline)… in both situations the animal purchased has had normal exam results and no issues. I have personally come to trust Carla and take her for her word. Carla has a policy that you CAN return a horse if you get it home and decide that he/she is not the right fit. She has treated me right and has been honest with me for every purchase I’ve made and that’s why I continue to do business with her. And WILL continue to do business with her and her daughter in the future. (I just need a bigger barn). I highly recommend Dead Broke farm to anyone who is looking to expand their farm family. Below, you will see the horses that I have purchased from Carla and Dana over the last 4 1/2 years. Good luck! 🍀 Another thing I want to add. I won’t have a horse that my kids can’t crawl all over and bounce up and down around. And they know this. Talk to Carla. Tell her what you need and want. She’ll do her best to match you appropriately.

We purchased a beautiful draft horse from Dead Broke Farm and couldn’t be more delighted with our purchase. Our horse was delivered healthy and happy to her new home in California. I must include that I have completely fallen in love with her. Everything they said she is, she is and i am truly amazed at her intelligence and sweetness to me. She has been a great horse to ride, even for some in our family who are new to riding! I am grateful for all the care and training that has been put into my horse by all at Dead Broke Farm. They were very helpful in the buying and delivering process and continue to be with any questions. If we decide to buy again, I will be checking there first! And if I do get a chance to come to the east coast, I look forward to visiting them and meeting them face to face! I couldn’t recommend this business more.

I'm pretty sure that for 1 hour it is 64 per person and for 2 hours it's 110
Where's the question in this tirade? I gave you the option of either putting your Pitbull inside your truck or leaving my farm with the dog. You chose the latter. I've had two Pitbull attacks on my farm (and one time the Pitbull was on a leash held by its owner), and I don't intend to have anymore. I nearly lost my poodle to a Pitbull attack on my own farm, and I had to have the vet out to treat one of my horses who was attacked in its pasture by a Pitbull. My own dogs and horses have the right to be safe on their own property. It is inappropriate to bring a dog of any breed to a public farm (much less a Pitbull) where there are resident dogs, horses, guineas, and other animals whose lives you put in jeopardy by your poor decisions. It's common curtesy to ask permission before taking your dog to someone's home, business, or farm BEFORE you do it.
Yes, we are open 7 days a week. We offer different riding times during during the week
Wonderful people and good horses.it is cheapest I found. They let you rub on the horses after the ride
We offer boarding. Please visit our website for more information.
Ride costs vary based on length of ride, weight, group size and age. $65/person for 1-hour and $110/person for a 2-hour ride is our basic pricing. You may want to take a look at our trail riding page: https://deadbrokefarm.com/adults/horse-trail-riding.html
We don't ever gallop on the horses through the woods. However, if everyone in the group is comfortable some trotting and cantering is allowed. This is also dependent on how hot the weather is.
Hi Donna, We are open on the weekends in the Winter months for trail-rides. If a person wants to ride on a weekday it has to be booked as a private ride.
Hi Makayla, We do not offer horse or pony rentals for events. However, lots of families have used our hand-led or trail ride at our farm for birthday celebrations. Thank you for your interest.
Hi, Chuck. All our trail rides include riding instruction before the ride and guides. We no longer offer lessons, but the only difference between our lessons and trail rides was the ground instructions we gave during a lesson, i.e. grooming, bridling, and saddling. In other words, we give the same riding instruction for trail rides that we used to provide for lessons.
