Not a bad place for a first timer to learn to ski. Magic carpets were awesome for my learner to ride up the beginner hill until they stopped suddenly or a bunch of learners crashed at the top and there was nowhere to go. Rope tows were really hard to hold and get onto and sagged in middle. Hills were pretty well groomed. Lines to get tickets and rentals weren't bad. Full lift tickets were pricey. Beginner hill tickets more reasonable. If it was any cheaper it would be REALLY crowded. Bathrooms need a little more attention. Concessions could use a few more healthy options. Customer service was decent. Just about everyone had a good attitude and there were enough people working where lines weren't too long. I'd go again with my kids but get there when it opened before the hordes arrived.

1962, I know this because PK celebrated the 50 year anniversary of pine knob ski resort the same year I turned 50. The concert venue, I don't know.
You may bring your own gear or rent our equipment. We offer skis, poles, snowboards, boots, and helmets. We also have a ski shop to purchase clothing items. You may use a locker if you rent our gear. 2022 Prices are $40 for boots & board, or boots, poles, & skis. Helmets are $10. In some cases, we can rent out just boots or just board, it depends on the bindings. We can also rent just poles. Check with the office for current prices for separate gear.
Yes. The ski resort has a cafeteria and you can order food from the lounge. Hot, cold, and adult beverages available. Both are open during normal ski resort hours - you can order food up until about an hour before closing.
You can rent just snowboard boots for $18 but not just ski boots.
No
Yes. We rent skis/poles/boots or snowboard/boots packages. We also rent helmets.
Yes you can. It is $35 for everything for either skiing or snowboarding and $10 for a helmet.
Lift tickets are NOT available in advance or online. Lift tickets and rentals are only available in person, at the resort, on the day and time of use.
All lift tickets and rentals are purchased in person, on the day of use, at the resort. No online sales at this time (except for lessons).
We offer skiing and snowboarding for all age and abilities. From a wonderful beginner area, to intermediate runs, and from advanced slopes to terrain parks - Pine Knob has a lot to offer - close to home, professional instruction, and great snow.
The season opening - as well as the entire ski season - is weather dependent. We're making snow this week and hope to open soon. Thank you.
Exact policies will be announced closer to ski season opening. We will be following current recommendations. Masks will be required inside, on chair lifts, and at the base of the ski hill.
Yes we do. Walk-ins anytime until 7:00 p.m. everyday. A private, one-on-one, lesson is $70 per hour. Packages available for multiple lessons. Visit www.PineKnobSkiSchool.com or call 248-625-0800 ext. 4. Thank you.
They're open.
I'm fairly certain it has to be downhill skiing. I have not seen any cross country areas but I'm not 💯 sure.
We have been open since before Thanksgiving, but not without snow as you put it. Pine knob has some of the best snow makers in the region. If the night time temperature is below 28 degrees, the crew is out there making snow.
I believe they sell boots in their pro shop. There's tons of other gear in the pro shop as well. You can rent boots, too, if you don't want to pay for them.
Not it you purchase an all area pass
Depends on the weather, but hours are on website and are 10-10 on Wednesday
You must be thinking of the music theater, the ski resort doesn't rent chairs.
Generally ALL ski resorts require you to buy and display lift tickets. The only exceptions are ski clubs, ski patrol, and staff such as instructors. This is true of Pine Knob as well.
Yes, they are open on new years day. They are open late new years eve and have things going on.
They do not as far as I know. Skied Thursday and snow was good quality and crowd not too big.
Just onsite. There are reduced cost options such as ski clubs.
There is always that chance but pine knob is not as crowded as other places
