Man's wet dream. The only issue is this location is in a older part of FTW. I recommend going to the Hulen or NFTW location towards 26.

I was so freaking happy to see the plus sized headless mannequin. She looked so nice in her fitness clothes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didnt find any shoes but we weren't there for me. My friend-girl found a swimsuit that fit great in just a few minutes. She looked great in it and we had a Good time together. Bought a tee shirt that says, "I'd wrap that in bacon." Lol....so we approve. 👍 Have a blessed day. ONE LOVE! ✌😇

I'm not saying that Academy practically stole money from me on a refund--but I am ABSOLUTELY insinuating it. I bought pickleball paddles for 30 dollars just last week and used them exactly *one* time before they broke at the handle. I brought them back and wanted a refund in order to get another paddle. Unfortunately, I did not have the receipt in my possession-- but I have returned things using the same card used to purchase many times at different places. Anyways, upon refund the register would not take my card and the cashier informed me that they cannot type in the card number(same one that I used to purchase) in order to issue a full refund, so I had to use my license. I was peeved to learn that I would only be receiving 15 dollars back and only in store credit. So basically Academy gets to keep my initial 30 dollars and I get only credit for half of that. What a lousy deal. So I sincerely hope that this particular Academy uses the money taken from me to get a card reader that can actually read a card in order to give a fair refund for their lousy products. With that being said, the Cashier was very pleasant and apologetic.

Great plus size women's section!! Seems as that location is rough with lots of weirdos walking around in the parking lot. There was a cop in the parking lot the entire time I was in the store. I won't go back to this location because I don't feel safe walking to my vehicle.

"Backpack on wheels" is not a question so it can't be addressed. If it is a merchandise question, perhaps you should contact Academy Sports and not thus listserv.

What are the Covid safety practices like here?

The only strike I have is that they don't require masks, which to me makes this place in the "too risky" category of stores, because they sell clothes and you can't get kill viruses on soft surfaces effectively without methods that combat the inflow of carriers. Unfortunately, their customer base is known to flout CDC recommendations, so I'd recommend anyone with health issues to avoid Academy, unless you're fully vaccinated. That said, the staff are aware of this, and will give you space; they've got their own gossip to chat about anyways. Don't interrupt them, though, you'll be Academy pariah. It's a delicate game, getting customer service there.
