This is a charming small Hotel with friendly patient people to help, though a little bit long in the touch. We stayed there because it was close to a very nice Restaurant (Spruce, recommended by Michelin with a “bip”). We had a comfortable room looking over San Francisco (parts of it, off course), which was very quiet. We didn’t need A/C during the night - we could open a window ( German tourists like that). They have a garage very close to the hotel. Ok that costs about 30$ per night extra. The room was spacious (downtown) and clean, the beds were comfortable. The bath had only a bathtub. They don’t offer breakfast, but there is a cafe just around the corner (Luna). For our purpose The Laurel Inn was the perfect hotel, in walking distance to the restaurant.

I’m so happy to be able to recommend a Laurel Inn. What a remarkable surprise in San Francisco to find a hotel that is in a terrific neighborhood, a reasonable expense, with a very large room and kitchen. What’s even more remarkable is the style that is used to enhance the experience. This is not routine hotel style boring artwork. Original art is on the wall beautiful pottery lamps on tables that are themselves stylish wonderful wallpaper and terrific cleanliness. hotels nowadays no longer provide daily maid service with change and towels and linens. The Laurel Inn does. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I open struck during our trip to California how hotel ratings often praise properties that are just terrible and on the other hand offer average reviews for hotels that in my experience are really extraordinary. This is an extraordinary hotel

We had to last minute cancel our hotel block due to personal matters and Gill Ekloff who we worked with was accommodating and understanding. We felt so terrible about needing to cancel but she was very kind. I would book it again in a heartbeat.

Comfy, super stylish inn in a hipster, mid-century modern style with soft colors and shapes. Large and bright rooms, good work area and very nice bathrooms. I prefer to have an in-room coffeemaker but they provide coffee and tea free in the lobby daily. Nice neighborhood for walking, 15 minutes to inner Richmond and 45 to downtown. Reasonably priced. Will return.
