Great park! Manatees are everywhere in the cove. The river is full of wildlife. Dolphins, gators and fish are plentiful. Bioluminescence is beautiful at night. I recommend A Day Away Kayak tours day or night.

A Day Away Kayaking on the Bioluminescent tour with guide Ryan was fantastic! The luminous water was calm, warm and brilliant. We had a lightening show off to the southwest of us that was amazing. We were so fortunate to have a dolphin hunting the mullet fish that looked like streaks of silver lights under the water within 20 feet of our kayaks!! We also saw an alligator swimming out to see what was going on! Beautiful night!!!

When you take the boat manatee tour, are the wetsuits because the water is freezing? Will I be cold?

Call your tour operator, as one typically does not get in the water. You view the manatees from the boat and do not swim with the manatees as federal regulations do not allow us to touch them anymore. People have abused the right to interact in that capacity and it is no longer allowed.

There is a company who take people out in their rented kayaks during the summer. But it is a guided tour at night to see the must see bio luminescence. So very worth it. I believe about $20 per person.
