Call your tour operator, as one typically does not get in the water. You view the manatees from the boat and do not swim with the manatees as federal regulations do not allow us to touch them anymore. People have abused the right to interact in that capacity and it is no longer allowed.
I guide kayak tours out at manatee cove a lot and the water is connected to the ocean. So depending on the temp of the ocean does change the temp in the water there. Just surprising to me, why people WOULD be in wet suits. I highly do not recommend swimming there.i have seen many gators there. Kayaking is fine and I have never been bothered by one, even at night. Also the water is very murky there so there would be no reason to get in....
I see people without wet suits. We seen a alligator yesterday
You will not be cold! Rest assured!
