Can you go out on a raft/float in the little lagoon area off the park....Is it relatively safe? I know gators can be in any body of water.

Kayak yes, canoe yes, John boat yes. Raft or float, only if you want to spend some quality time in the ER.

I have lived here for 9 years and never seen a person do it, but I don't see why you can't. Not sure about gators, though I haven't ever heard of a problem there.

Yes its relatively safe. Although i wouldnt leave the raft to swim or explore islands.

Ive seen a couple small gators... Ive kayaked there through a group on groupon.
