I had such an amazing time walking this weekend, I wish I had taken a few photos so I could share them with you. It is well equipped with trails, picnic tables, and well marked trails, the only complaint we have is that there are no obvious signs pointing to the trail across the street. In fact, this was not our first time here, it was our second or third, and it was my friends who introduced us to the trail across the street, and without them, we would not have noticed it. There is also the issue of ticks, which we are aware the rangers can do nothing about really, but still, it is a tick-heavy trail, so be aware.

Questions & Answers

how much does it cost to get in and do you have elderly discounts or any discounts?

I think that there is a $2 parking fee. It is left at an honor box. Could be wrong on the amount but less than $5, because I had to dig for change in my glove box.

There are some paved paths from the East trailhead off of 43rd Street. I have never hiked these so don't know their distance. None of the other trails from the Gainesville or Alachua trailheads will be accessible by wheelchair, unfortunately.

Are recent trail conditions (wet, etc.) available anywhere?

The website should have any emergent conditions that are lasting. Otherwise, you'll probably need to call the ranger's office at Devil's Millhopper.

How do I get to the trailhead of Cellon trail? I have a carriage. No one has answered the phone ☎️

That trailhead is in Alachua. Go to the first entrance at Progress Park. The main road in Progress Park is a large loop. The trailhead is located in the SW corner of this loop. You will see two dirt roads and the small kiosk for payment and the stub that attaches to your rear view mirror. Then continue following the dirt road to the trail head.
