I have 2 mini doxies and the small park is very small, even for them. It is clean and had ample shade but no where to sit. There was a large gap between the small park and the large park area. I wasn't comfortable with that. For some reason, the big dogs always gang up on my itty bitty 11 lbs Baylie - I've had a golden retriever attack her before, so I am cautious. I already paid for the year but will not be renewing as it's too far away and not worth the drive for a tiny backyard sized lot.

Great spot. My dog loved it. I would give it 5 stars but this is not a public park. You have to get a pass from the city that costs about $50/year. I didn't see that mentioned anywhere when I looked this place up and found it on Google Maps. So don't pull up thinking you can just walk in. There's not a lot of open running room as the park is mostly a cushioned track around the pond. There are a few benches around the track but most seating is in the playground area. But there were plenty of tennis balls to be found and thrown and it was very clean.

Private dog park. Website does not tell you that. We were traveling from Fl back to NC and needing some place safe to let our dogs run for a bit. Once we got there we were told by people inside the fence that it’s a private park. We drove a good distance to get there out of our way. Extremely disappointed!

There are no alligators. The park is completely fenced in. My dogs (and many others) love to play in the water!

AB dog park is open during day light hours. Access is by magnetic card obtained through membership through the city of Atlantic beach. No daily or short-term access is available.
Yes it is a pay park but very much worth it. No issues at this park like you have at the free ones. Much less crowded and dogs and owners are much more well behaved. Go to Atlantic beach dog park website to see all the requirements
