My mother has been a resident in independent living for 6 years. During this time we have had wonderful experiences with the facility, its' programs and staff. The staff always goes above and beyond to provide a safe, warm and caring environment. This has certainly been evident in how they have handled COVID! As a geriatric mental health professional, I have been in senior living facilities for decades and have never been as impressed as I am with Brightview Rolling Hills.

I wanted to write a review of Graeg Keogh for the benefit of those in search of “Senior Living” and for Graeg herself. We initally met Graeg in our search for a situation in which my wife and I could transition. We have been investigating multiple facilities. Having been given a suggestion to see Brightview Rolling Hills, we visited. Our introduction was to an affable, well informed, concerned, and dedicated young woman. This was and is Graeg. Over the past months, email after email from me, she has understood our situation and has promptly answered all our questions. If she wasn't certain of the answer, she directed me to the person best able to address our concerns. She has the perfect personality for her position...kind, understanding, and resourceful. We can only hope that the other staff at Brightview will be as talented in their jobs as Graeg is in hers. And from what we have seen...they are. We look forward to joining the BVRH community when we have finalized our move.

My mother has been living in an independent living apartment at BVRH for about 16 months. She is very happy there. She loves her apartment, meeting her friends for dinner in the dining room, the convenience of parking (she still drives), the pleasant and helpful staff, and the many activities. She goes to exercise class, attends concerts, goes on trips. The longer she is there, the more comfortable she is. She also appreciates the emergency alert bracelet that connects her to the BVRH staff 24/7 in the event of an emergency on site. After living in the same house for 63 years, she has made a beautiful transition to apartment living at BVRH. Our family recommends it highly.

Brightview Rolling Hills is a beautiful facility, esthetically speaking. While management states they enjoy an excellent reputation in the community, that’s not entirely accurate. If you are able to live independently and can afford it, Brightview may be a good fit. For those with dementia or more physical limitations, the situation becomes more precarious. Staffing levels are insufficient for anyone who is a fall risk. My loved one sustained numerous broken bones while in their care, and management was less than honest about the circumstances. Brightview does not require direct care staff to be certified by the state. They are trained internally and in my experience, are not up to par on important aspects of care. There was a lot of turnover in direct care staff, as well as frequent short staffing. Short story-Brightview Rolling Hills is not the place for anyone with more than mild dementia. They aren’t set up for people with greater needs, no matter what they claim.
