I think the 4-star "liked it" response is correct for Cracker Barrel. At it's worst it's boring, at best it's comforting. The food is never bad, service is good, prices vary based on what you get (I feel like breakfast pricing is better than dinner). Quality of ingredients is good.

Always enjoy Cracker Barrel... except one evening when I ordered the soup of the day. It was vegetable, & when it came, it was tepid & very obviously Campbell's canned Vegetable soup! They heated it for me, but it was still canned soup.

I ordered fried chicken strips and they were very dried out. I told the water about it, only to find out that they cook their chicken strips in the morning and keep them in a heat box and serve them all day, which is nasty and a huge health code violation. But the service is overall nice. We didn't spend too much on what we got. Normally I enjoy what I order very much.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!! Breakfast and Lunch Menu both, everything listed was minimum $10+, averaging at $12. You could get side orders (baked sweet potato looked good) for $3.50+. And None of meals included a Beverage which was charged separately! BIG NO due to HIGH COST!
