This is my church so yes my review is bias. However, anyone can stop by to attend a service and speak to Father John, he is very personable and intelligent. He’s an amazing, caring person.

As the second oldest in the City of Orlando it alway a welcoming place. The classic design under strict city history preservation orders for all repairs and remodeling. So how do you give this building the well deserved TLC? Donations and reference to the original construction plans. All help is welcome

My spiritual home and my church family. I am proud to be a member of St George's Orthodox Church. Christ is in our midst - He is and always shall be!

Standing is the preferred posture for most services however kneeling and prostrations are also used extensively - especially during the period of the Great Fast. Seating for the elderly or inform is always available and most congregations sit during the sermon. Sitting during certain parts of some services is often just tradition. Whether you sit, stand or kneel is unimportant. So if you're visiting an Orthodox church, the best rule of thumb is, "When in Rome.........
Orthros at 9am and Divine Liturgy at 10am with absolution a few minutes before. Vespers Wednesday 6pm
If an Ancient Greek shows up we'll ask him but in the mean time, the priests will use the languages of the people they serve. Orthodoxy is not some mystical Eastern religion that's pretty to listen to and pretty to watch. Every word of every prayer and hymn is important to the understanding of the service. Through the words, the Holy Fathers define the Orthodox understanding of Christ and His church. Of course we want that knowledge in a language we understand. Wouldn't you? FYI The language known as "ancient Greek" was used between the years 1500-300 BC. So people stopped using it 300 years before Christ's birth. Why bring a dead language back to use in a living church? By the way, if you want to hear Greek, the Greek Orthodox Church offers the Greek language to their faithful.
We don't have parking suitable for an 18 wheeler unfortunately. Nearest truck stop is on hwy 441. And short term parking at the turnpike rest area. Text me at 4079707740 if you choose one of these and I'll bring you in.
Fifth and Third bank is a short walk away and is a great place to park
We can't anymore. City put an end to it. But we have resources that may help. Text me at 4079707740 and I can try to put you in touch.
