Can I walk in tomorrow and be helped

Interested in making an appointment. My husband recently passed away and I need to submit his death certificate. Not seeking benefits at this time. Thank you for your response.

No. I went there in a Friday at around 9:00, without appointment. There was a line with 7 persons in front of the entrance door and I had to wait for 4 people ahead of me to be attended, after getting the ticket. There were 3 boxes working at that time and did not take long to be attended.

The office is open you could walk in, the earlier the better, follow security guidelines & is ok, is not too busy so good chance you will get your business done.

I went last week to the social security office in Thousand Oaks, and you have to have an appointment. The door is locked, and they have a security guard.

Call until you get someone who's both nice and informed. The first woman working from home lied to me and said they weren't doing any in person appointments. After she disconnected my call in the middle of it and I had to call back, I reached a very pleasant guy working in the office who made the appointment for me right away.

Nope, not during the current COVID lockdown - I tried 2 weeks ago. You can slip an envelope under/between the door with all your forms and stuff and they'll pick it up and process it.

I would suggest showing your birth certificate that you don't have a middle name. Talk to the Social Security Office. I find it easier to walk in when they open, inThousand Oaks it's easier. Wish could help you out more

You can mail it though it will be about 3 weeks before you will get the new card. You can go to the office, your wait time depends how busy it is from 30 minutes to 1 hour

They need her new Medicare card that DOES NOT have her SSN on it. Medicare reissued cards with new random letters/numbers in place of social security numbers. This was done to help prevent identity theft.

I find dropping by with everything ready works best for me. Making an appt takes a while as they they fill up fast and are futuristic. If you have all your paperwork ready, check the website, go in and get it done.

Please, do not use any "form dropbox. Papers do disappear or go awry and you will have no evidence you put them in the dropbox. (With any government agency ALWAYS get any ID you can from the person to whom you gave your papers or forms or datum, and write the ID down with the person's gender, hair color, approximate age, date, time, and office location.)
