If you feel that you have been treated differently or less favorably at work, you may be protected by laws enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Unfair treatment at work stems from behavior that causes the employee to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. You may have been discriminated against because of race, color, religion, education level, sex, pregnancy, national origin, disability, or age. Threats of punishment, ridicule, and unwanted jokes can also be indicative of unfair treatment in the workplace. If your boss is treating you inappropriately, contact an employment lawyer who can help you file an employment discrimination lawsuit. Contact the attorneys at Zeff Law Firm, LLC to develop a plan for legal action against your employer. Their attorneys can help you determine what options are best for your case. If you don't have an employment contract or bargaining agreement to protect you, employers can reduce your working hours at any time. It isn't illegal in the United states to reduce your working hours. If you don’t like it, you can negotiate, freelance, or try to find a new job. However, without being notified of a pay cut, the amount cannot be reduced from the employee’s salary. If an employer cuts an employee’s pay without informing him, it is considered a violation of a contract. A skilled employment employee attorney can help you determine your options for pursuing legal action.
