Wonderful place to enjoy a walk. The grounds are meticulously maintained and full of beautiful flowers and old growth trees. There are meandering paths that will take you through wild colored flowers. There are lots of places to sit back and take in the silence of a secret garden.

Nice little arboretum - clean, well maintained., enough parking. Cherry and magnolias were in bloom when we went. Family friendly 1.5 mile trail on AllTrails is a good way to walk at your own pace and enjoy the outdoors. 3 stars dinged as staff was adamant and incessant about needing permits to take photos on consumer-grade digital cameras. I clearly understand the need for professional photographers to take permits, but one little digital camera on the neck and you are treated as a professional - that's a bit much. More so in today's day and age when most cell phones take incredible photos. Even the immensely larger Brooklyn and New York Botanic Gardens do not have such high-handed enforcement of arbitrary photography rules.

One of my favorite places in long island! Grounds are free to explore, but the mansion costs extra. Make sure you visit the camillia house- super beautiful in full bloom in February!

We had a magical day at this Arboretum. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! So inspiring. Makes me want to get my garden at home in shape. I loved every moment. The greenhouses are arranged so beautifully and it’s the best arboretum/botanical garden I’ve been to in several states.

Planting Fields has an $8 per car fee every day, from April 1st to Labor Day. After Labor Day, the fee only applies to weekend visits. During the winter season, admission is free.
Not sure about that but you can buy an annual Empire State Pass for discount
Yes, no pets allowed, not sure if Coe Hall is open, but the grounds are still beautiful to walk around.
First of all, my condolences on your Mother's passing. I would call them just to confirm, but I was there on Mother's Day weekend and it was almost empty. I'm sure that they would be happy to have 20 people celebrating your Mom whenever you can make it over there.
We were there about two weeks ago and did not need reservations. It was a beautiful day and it was not at all crowded.
Yes but the fields are expansive with trees you can sit under that provide nice shade. If you bring a blanket you'll be set!
You could take the LIRR to the Syosset train station and take a cab to the Planting Field as there is a cab company right there. Also it's about 15 mins by car from the station.
I have no idea. Probably on arbor day, whenever that is.
The entrance fee for parking is $8.00 per vehicle. No fee for number of people.
There r maps at main building. When ever walking in woods with no map pay attention to which side of body sun is on to get back make sure sun is primarily on opposite side . No what direction sun rises and sets
You need to call 📞 them directly
Nope, there is a Cafe though
Yes, very educational.
No only are dogs not allowed, but in the 7 years of me going there, I have never seen a dog. Now of course if you have a pocket or toy dog that you always carry, no one will most likely say anything.
There is a mask mandate
They have a map on their web page of the plantings and where to find them, that might help.
Im just a visitor as well. And Test they are open everyday through November. However I do suggest that you review their Policies. They are a very picky bunch of people lol. Be prepared to pay an admission fee. But worth every minute of your visit
We were there this weekend and heard 2 very large overhead swarms/hives in the trees. Pretty intimidating. Also saw a drone bee in the bathrooms. Be safe
Yes but only to half capacity. Once park hits half capacity they close it down until enough people leave. Then they reopen it if they are able to. My advice, get there early. We got there at 12 noon and got in without an issue. But as more people find out, it may crowd up faster. Enjoy.
Depends on the time of the year
You need to have permission / permit from the administrator to take formal pictures
See: https://plantingfields.org/event-calendar/ for scheduled events.
Yes there is a $20 park entrance fee that's about it for the whole day and it's beautiful. Hope that helped
Yes, but the greenhouses do have some narrow aisles and an occasional step up or down. Still plenty to see, but realistically, you won't be able to go everywhere.
Check with website...not sure

Yes, the park is open for Mother's & Father's Day every year. It's very popular.
It is open to public. I come in with my clients many time just pay parking at the gate. You can get permit at the parking lot. They running around to make sure you pay :)
Yes, gates are closed at night. You can check hours of operations on their website.
It is not a public park. It is a great place to walk and enjoy the scenery.
I've done small photoshoots there, and didn't need a permit. If you need a certain area to be free of human traffic, you may need one. But usually you don't.
My best guess is that you should drive there and ask.
