I've done small photoshoots there, and didn't need a permit. If you need a certain area to be free of human traffic, you may need one. But usually you don't.

If you are setting up fixed shots with tripods or elaborate stagings, you do require a permit. My wife and I took our photos with a friend and we had no problems. It's a beautiful spot and you couldn't do much better.
It all depends on how big your shoot will be. If you going to have a giraffe or waterfall on your shoot maybe you should call the place to ask about specifics. One day we saw seven different wedding parties doing photo shoots there and I doubt they all had permits. Just to be on the safe side call them and ask. I hope this made it easier for you. The place definitely has allure for shoots thought, if you need the English country side feeling.
