Spend 8 hours here did not see a doctor and I was checked out. I will not recomend this place if your having any heart problems or so.

My name is Vatsal Patel. I am a radiation oncologist MD physician in Modesto. I practice in a busy cancer clinic in Modesto. I am also a staff at DMC and take care of the many patients that come to me through DMC. Yesterday evening, I went to the DMC ER due to two months of history of progressively worsening shortness of breath and acute onset chest pain. These symptoms started post Covid. The doctor I saw at the ER was excellent, so was the phlebotomist and the initial RN staff that did the EKG, but the overall service received was HORRIFIC. They need more empathetic and compassionate staff that know how to treat a physician whose health is neglected for 4 years well. I have never been to a hospital where a physician gets treated this poorly by some of the staff. One lady staff even commented sarcastically that I should have gone to a primary care doctor and not show up in the ER. After my labs returned, I had a conversation with a really good doctor who conveyed to me that I might benefit from CT chest just to see if I have post covid damage to my lungs as other labs and EKG were umremarkable. This test could be done as an outpatient but he was gracious to get it scheduled for me with the understanding that I might have to wait. I waited for an hour and then was told there were 5 people ahead of me. It was 9:00 pm. I had to go to clinic in morning. So I asked staff in EKG room to convey to the doctor that I would get the CT done as an outpatient as I had to go. The girl agreed to convey message to the doctor. I waited for 45 minutes in the waiting room and the left when I did not hear back. I understand it's ER and so left without much expectation. In the morning today I called the ER to ask if instructions for CT chest as an outpatient were available. I got to hear a handful from the person at the other end. "You left and we called you at least 5 times for the CT." The person was unwilling to listen that I had not left against medical advice but rather taken the option of an outpatient CT rather than ER CT saving space for another deserving patient who had a true ER. I would never visit this ER again unless I have an emergency and there is no other option. I, like many other doctors, rarely visit doctors. This is probably why. The staff should be embarrassed on their treatment of me. I wouldn't treat an enemy like this. Very unprofessional staff and rude ancillary staff lacking in empathy and baseline respect.

Worst service ever, a woman was in horrible pain, they took hours to help me , some nurses were joking and laughing while patients out here sick and in horrible pain for hours with very little assistance

We had to wait there for 7 hours jus to get medicine and x-Rey results. There were people who were coming in and were leaving earlier than we were having being there longer. Wouldn’t not recommend if you want to get something fast
