UNQUALIFIED GROOMERS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO BRING YOUR DOG. Brought our small poodle mix into Petco for a bath and sani trim, we usually use PetSmart but Petco was 2 blocks from our new home, and not only will I never use Petco again, I will never shop there again. FIRST while I was getting checked in one of the workers brought a large dog in from outside and let it walk right up to my dog twice, even after I explained my dog does not do well with bigger dogs and gets scared. SECOND I received a call my dog was ready and was informed that he had lifted his lip while someone was doing something to him and that he wouldn't be able to return to Petco. I was shocked since my dog has been going to various groomers for over 4 years at least once a month with no incident and no reports of aggression. Immediately I asked what were you doing that made him lift his lip and she did not give me an answer I went straight to the Petco to get my dog as I feared something bad had happened that made him lift his lip at these people. THIRD when I arrive to pick him up I was greeted with lots of attitude and a dismissive tone from the employee that worked at the desk, when I went to pay the woman could see I was very upset and worried about my dog and just wanted to get him out of there and she was the only person who treated me kindly in the store that day. They did a horrible job with the sani trim, didn't trim around the butt at all? I'm extremely disappointed and offended by my experience with this Petco, and after discussing this with people in my neighborhood yesterday I come to find this Petco has a horrible reputation and is known for treating dogs poorly. Please don't take your dog here for any grooming services, even a bath, they are so highly unqualified I worry that someone's dog make it hurt or worse. There is a PetSmart in Sand City that has trained groomers as well as several independent groomers in Monterey and Pacific Grove where your dog won't be hurt or traumatized

They had kittens!!! We already have a 7 year old cat, Miko, 2 ridiculous 8 month old pups Emma & Eli and a persistent 5 year+ goldfish aka Dinozzo aka Moby. It was tempting, those cute and curious fuzzballs! But our ark runneth over!

Its sad when an employee is being asked questions about services for your dog, that they can decide on who they will service, you ask too many questions and they will say no to you.

Everything about this place is amazing! I love to come here for all of my pet supplies, the manager always makes sure you’ve been helped and the ladies at the register are sweet. I even got their rewards program since I shop here very often and it saves us money. I don’t even mind the drive from Seaside, and will always use this store.
