Elk Knob is a great start park we did the Beech Tree Trail after the Summit Trail. The Beech trailhead is before the Summit on opposite side of parking lot. The trail is rated easy and I agree that anyone can do this one. The trail is also a community art trail. There is art all along the trail, I only wish they would do different kinds of medium rather than just one. I'm sure some metal artist or sculptures would love to participate. Trail was mainly dry and very well marked.

This is a lovely park with beautiful trails. It is well-maintained. The trail to the overview is strenuous and is 1.9 miles. The view is definitely worth the hike.

Go to the park office they will give you map. Ask them also which trail is open and safe to go.

Designated camping spots available along the Backcountry Trail. About 1 to 1 1/2 mile hike. No "wild camping" allowed. Registration at trailhead!
Yes it is open daily except Christmas
at the top of Elk Knob you will find on either view side benches but no tables
