This is my favorite DMV. I travel to this office from another county when I need license assistance. The staff here is blunt and straight forward but will answer any questions they possibly can for you. In my experience I get treated just how I treat them and if they can work with you they will. Make an appointment! Call in advance! Don't procrastinate, it could be a week or two to get in at a time that's good for you.

I had missed that they are trying to only do appointments, so I appreciated that they let me wait and worked me in. They were fast, friendly, and courteous. Much appreciated.

So talking with the dmv official on the phone he told me that they do not allow walk ins for updating drivers license address for cdl. However on the state run website it states that walkins are welcome but appointments are given priority. That is why im giving a one star review.

Recap of a terrible experience I had this morning at your Franklin County location. I arrived promptly at 8:00 AM to get a new driver's license there was a line of 3 people ahead of me. When we entered there was a male employee sitting at a desk in a hallway asking people if they had an appointment. One individual ahead of me did not, the next one had an appointment YESTERDAY, and the other did have an appointment for 8:00 AM this morning. The two in the middle were allowed to enter while myself and the other person without this special appointment were not allowed to go in. This "gentleman" then proceeded to berate us for not having an appointment and thinking we could just show up. Claiming there was absolutely no way we would be allowed to get in... even though, technically, one of the people he let in didn't have a valid appointment for that day. The individual other than myself that did not have an appointment then told him that your website states that appointments are not required, to which he scoffed and said "you're wrong" in a derogatory manner. The only semi courteous thing he offered to do was schedule an appointment for 2 weeks out. When that didn't work for either of us he shrugged his shoulders still seemed disgruntled that we were there. Other than being talked down to like a disobedient child, there were two underlying issues that struck a nerve as well. First, we weren't holding up the line for other citizens that were attempting to receive service. There were no other patrons present that we would have been cutting in front of. Secondly, the man's claim that walk-ins are not welcome is highly inaccurate. I reviewed the official state website. It reads, "Needing to visit one of our driver's license office? Walk-in customers are welcome. Customers with appointments receive priority access." I do not have an issue with a customer receiving service before I do if they have an appointment. That concept is more than fair and not the premise for my complaint. In summary, my visit to the Franklin County Kansas Driver's License Office in Ottawa was exceptionally insulting and I would expect that this would not be the appropriate manner for state employees to be treating the tax payers of our great state.

The process itself doesn't take very long. The wait time just depends on how many people are in line. We're here on a Wednesday at 1 pm and there's hardly anyone here.
Yes.
You have 90 days from the time you move.
No you can get it in any county
I took my bank statement, social security card, and birth certificate to comply with the real id act. Gold star in the top left corner of the driver's license
No
I believe right now it's only by appointment only but I just kept calling and calling and eventually the answer and everything else went pretty smooth
Not sure why that would happen. Are you dialing dirtectly from your phone or clicking the phone number link to call?? How many times has this happened?
I believe it's 13 dollars.
In Ottawa no just have to wait your turn but you could
The DMV in Ottawa? I called a couple weeks ago to make an appointment and they answered there's a man when you first walk in the door you can make an appointment with as well
I googled Miami County's page and read the v guidelines for what you asked. It is stated that a person with an out of state license that wants to get a KS license must go to a "full service" DMV. Your best bet to get correct information and schedule an appointment is to call Topeka the number is (785)296-3671
By calling appointments only you must call in tell him what you need and then they'll make an appointment
I just walked in and I didn't know you have to have a appointment made an appointment right then but they are booked tell mid June !
No copies. It has to be the certified document
If its longer then 30 days u have to take the hole test again.
Yes and I dont remember.
DMV but have your actual birth certificate and ss# and proof of address.
About 8 dollars
Driving test? You should have taken the written to get the permit, or at least that's how it was. After that, if your a minor, get your guardian to sign off that you drove the required hours. Can't get a full dl tell 17 now, I think, might be 18.
You are free to test at any time the office is open unless your test would break into closing time. If you are in the middle of a test then you will finish the portion you are on and resume the next day.
Yes
Yes wenesday not monday

There are 25 questions. You have to get an 80% to pass. You can miss 5.
My husband has a class A and he moved from Kansas to Missouri, and Missouri back to Kansas. Moving from Kansas to Missouri cost $75 and moving from Missouri to Kansas cost $25 ish. Neither time did he have to take a test but they now make you watch a video on human trafficking at the DMV now.
