Beautiful hiking area. Road to it is a little rough but doable in a car.

The road to get to the trailhead is in need of serious maintenance so be cautious. The 1st half of the trail is relatively easy the 2nd part you have to walk over a bunch of big rocks and there’s a lot of tree roots that stick out of the ground. Wear some good shoes and expect to walk 6 miles total in and out. Once you get to Laurel Falls, you do have the option to continue to the left once you get there to go to snow falls. I took me and my party a while because we hike off trail so it took about 4.5 hours total but if you stay on the trail you could hike it in 3-3.5 hours. I have clips from the hike on my Instagram business page : _eu.terra

Great area to hike as I went to Laurel Falls and Buzzard Point. Trails are in good condition and very scenic with the leafs off.

Yes, people bring their dogs all the time! I'd recommend keeping him/her on a leash, if you don't trust it to stick close and stay away from ledges and waterfalls(of which there are many, especially if you go in a lot of the smaller trails, but the main trail is great for dogs!
It is but the trail isn't scooter friendly
yes the park is now open. the hiker was found... unfortunately he didnt survive.
Not flooded but water does trickle gently across the trail after it rains.
Yes just be careful. Water really rushes in spots and flash flooding can occur very quickly if any rain in the area.
I haven't seen anyone the 4 times I have been there but think it would be possible with a license.
Round trip probably right around five miles. There are numerous falls, creeks, bridges along the way.
Yes the first 1.8 miles to the major bridge is relatively flat
Go online to www.friendsofthecumberlandtrail.org and you can get a permit.
If you have a permit you're probably good. Most state parks recognize a carry permit. Better to ask forgiveness than permission. Lol.
