Yes, people bring their dogs all the time! I'd recommend keeping him/her on a leash, if you don't trust it to stick close and stay away from ledges and waterfalls(of which there are many, especially if you go in a lot of the smaller trails, but the main trail is great for dogs!

I'd say yes, but.... there are some dangers. If you let it run loose there's old vertical shafts off the trails from the old railroad days it could fall into. If your dog falls in one, it's (sorry to be blunt here) probably dead. However, if your dog stays close and obeys or is on a lead, you'll be fine. The only other danger is the river. But for a dog, I doubt that's a problem. I'd feel comfortable taking my dog here on a lead.
