Beautiful unspoiled nature. Nice little trail around the lake? There were quite a few insects when we visited.

This place is EXQUISITE, well worth the drive. Although we had no reservations- the system was down - you will love the road leading up to it. There will be thousands of opportunities to take pictures, when you are able to pull to the side. Please be extra careful with cyclist. Open your windows, slow down and enjoyed the hand of the L-rd!

The Maroon Peaks were an amazing site from the lake, and the parking area was surrounded by several other beautiful and unique peaks. Rain and snow the night prior left the sky cloudy, the ground wet, and the air cold so I would definitely like to come back to see everything in the other seasons. You are supposed to make parking reservations ($10) or included with an Annual parks pass and supposedly arrive between midnight and 8am. However, the park ranger station didn’t seem to open up until ~7:30 - ~8am. Despite the tickets being almost sold out when I made reservations (Back in May!) there were only a handful of other people there before we left. There were people coming in after 8am when we were leaving. This may be because of how late in the season we came and the rangers may be there earlier and be more strict during warmer months when they expect to have more visitors.

Beautiful views and well kept trails. We hiked to Crater Lake. The hike was easy but the altitude definitely adds a challenge. We’re from sea level and the Crater Lake hike took us 2 hours round trip.

Two mountain peaks
It's a very nice place and looks great in different weather conditions
You can drive up at certain time of the day but I think that ends at 8am but I suggest taking the bus from the highlands ski resort in aspen, the busses take you right up to the maroon bells. It's $15 per person and $ for parking. You can get on just about any bus to get to the highland ski resort or just leave from the resort straight to the maroon bells. You can also ride a bike or walk but I heard it's EXHAUSTING so when you're walking back down you can flag down a bus and they'll take you back down to the ski resort. Take the bus!!
Road is closed for the last some miles when it snows. So you need to hike.. or you could rent a snowmobile.
Typically it's paid at the entrance
Yes, dogs were allowed on the hike
Yes, there is a parking nearby, but you probably have to pay to the national forest station in the midway.
No. Once you reach there in the Maroon bells shuttle, you are free to do whatever you want.
They allow cars after 5pm. You need reservations. Other times you need to take the shuttle.
Yes you do.
yeah that's definitely illegal as you don't own the land
There is.
Maroon Bells is still open, it should be till early November as it has the previous year's. That said busses stopped running 6-Oct. You can drive there before 8am and pay a $10 car fee.
It depends on weather.
You need to take bus if you want to go between 8 am to 5 pm. You find more details on Aspen Snowmass site.
We were able to drive in during may end this year
No one can help you if you leave your question so open-ended like that.
Also factor in the time to take the bus from the drop off point in aspen and the walking time to the bells from the drop off point in the park, another 2 hours or so. They have very limited car entry for environment reasons
There's a bus that goes from Aspen to the site and takes you out again. Free when I visited. Then it's a short hike to the base of the bells for photos. You want to schedule time carefully, the last bus out is at 5pm. This bus system prevents too much traffic on the ecosystem.
Currently you cannot directly take your car till Maroon bells. You need to take up shuttle from the resort.
No, unfortunately not.
Yes indeed. You get on the shuttle right at the main entrance. They run every 15 minutes. It's roughly a 20 minute bus ride. From there it isn't more than 100 yards to see them clearly.
