You can drive up at certain time of the day but I think that ends at 8am but I suggest taking the bus from the highlands ski resort in aspen, the busses take you right up to the maroon bells. It's $15 per person and $ for parking. You can get on just about any bus to get to the highland ski resort or just leave from the resort straight to the maroon bells. You can also ride a bike or walk but I heard it's EXHAUSTING so when you're walking back down you can flag down a bus and they'll take you back down to the ski resort. Take the bus!!
